Except they were not actually reacting to his wording in the book Except they were because the exact words quoted on tv and media where from the translation you quote and in fact read worse than were reported:I didn't think of them as people , they were chess pieces removed from the board.

Several prominent military officers, nothing to do with Harry have said he should not have said what he did and the way it was said. He has been so poorly advised as to wording etc in areas of his book.

This subject will always polarise views on both sides as it is practically impossible to be completely clear on what has happened on both sides. It's just a shame it has developed into this whereby it is being played out on news and media. Hope they can reconcile to some extent at least in the future.

That's what I felt about the show. Sian Phillips, Judi Dench, Julia McKenzie, and Petula Clark were certainly past their prime but they knew how to act rather than just sing. That's exactly what I thought about those performers. They all have extensive acting experience as well as singing so could really sell the song the way it was supposed to be performed.

Are you actually saying Bernadette was weaker than Petula? Petula actually performed the song the way it is written and really acted it.Of course her voice is not as it was but she still did a decent job of it.

Well this was every bit as unfunny as the trailer suggested. Witless rubbish. We can agree on this !

Yes a pity it was cut at the end. It didn't come over as well i felt as it did live, but things never do. I actually thought Petula did a decent job of what is a long song for someone almost 90 at the time. Some of the song choices were not very commercial and it's a pity Not While I'm around was missed off but hey!

Malaga was 20c today and sunny so next year that's where I am heading to for Christmas. We have a friend who is in the south of Spain. Very tempting. Sorry your Christmas didn't go too well. Best wishes for the rest of the break and New Year.

Merry Christmas to everyone and a healthy and happy New Year.
It's been an odd old year and my brother is still battling his cancer and has a new aggressive treatment to contend with in early January but he has been an absolute warrior.
Hope you all get a break and enjoy the festivities.

Saw Beauty and The Beast in Malvern tonight on their opening night. Very entertaining with some Les mis and Love Never Dies tunes. Jokes largely landed and a good reception from the audience.

Most non-Brits would not know what a ‘walkabout’ is. What a weird thing to focus your ire on. It was just one item that i saw on the news as I haven't sen the news. The fact that Harry would not have told her and she would have been briefed on what sort of thing Royals do. Royals have visited USA many times and it is all over their news and they have done many walkabouts. It just seems obvious that either she would have seen one or been told.

It is such a shame it turned out like this. They could have been such a force for good in the UK and around the world whilst in the Royal Family. How Meghan can claim she never knew or had seen a walkabout is merely one claim that appears blatantly false.

Sorry about that Rob, it sucks when something totally beyond your control makes other stuff happen and when you miss something or it costs you it's even more annoying. Hope you get to see it soon. The rail strikes are also going to have a big effect in theatre etc over the coming weeks.

Can't wait to see it close up as was there on the night. Some great performances and re the comments about Mr Ball he is always vocally reliable and from memory performed well on the night. Indeed there were few duff performances from memory.

It's dreadful and I know homophobic attacks occur in lots of places but the US can be so polarised in it's views. Here's hoping the person responsible is brought to justice.

For my 2nd visit I got two of the cheap tickets for January which came to £44.50 for the pair. Block F row M seats 1 and 2. I sat the opposite side before so sure these will be ok.

I have seen her many times over the years including as my favourite Norma Desmond in Sunset, Bird Lady and in concert many times. Last time was at the big Sondheim tribute. I habe met her a few times and she always strikes me as being so modest and self deprecating considering the people she has worked with and the amount she has done. Happy Birthday Petula.

Marisha was interviewed on Radio 2 this morning and mentioned she would be back in the West End next year in something not yet announced.(Although it may be something that has been announced just not the casting) I wonder what?

Apparently there is an arsenal online forum of 100,000 who are voting for Tony every week and he is topping the public vote.In some ways it was always a popularity contest as all of these reality / talent shows are.

celebrities attending the gala night of Cabaret and I think of the 20 or so pics I had only heard of about 4 of them. It is rather the fact that now the word celebrity is applied to those who really aren't.

Saw this tonight in Malvern and the whole week is sold out. Have to say very well behaved audience despite the large amount of children. Great performances all round with only one alternate Natalie Pilkington on. Got a great response from the audience. A cheap show to put on though and with 2 performances some days as it is so short, yet charging normal prices.
