I had my second jab on 1st April and haven't heard a thing.

Gina Beck was my first Christine, and for me no one else has come close.

I always wanted to be Eliza. However, given my advanced years and girth, I would now be better off as Mrs Pearce!

Has disciplining your child gone completely out of the window? "But my Kaieyleighee would never cause trouble! Besides, all children set things on fire, and that couple didn't look like they were enjoying the show anyway." When my friend gently remonstrated with a child who had persistently been kicking her seat, the parent told my friend she was "a f***ing snob". Thankfully they left shortly afterwards.

Just caught up on Twitter re the Donny comments. I usually leave booking the Palladium panto until the last minute, and pick up a bargain in the final week. Looks like this may not be possible this year! I missed Pantoland last year, so might well have to bite the bullet and pay full price.

Every year I say 'who?' re a number of participants (three at the latest count), but a couple of weeks in I'm happily calling them by their first names and getting totally involved!

If I fall in love with a show I will happily see it multiple times. I love seeing a show for the first time and coming out thinking, 'I must go again'. Over the years multiple times means anything from twice to over 30 visits. I have my firm favourites and will no doubt go again when the time is right.
Sadly I haven't seen anything since Covid. Travel worries apart, I can't cope with the suspense of wondering whether my show will be cancelled at the last minute and the ensuing hassle of rebooking or refunding tickets.

Killian Donnelly had a bit of a stage door drama last night. From his Twitter:
"Much love to all at stage door. Please don’t get annoyed/shout things if I don’t stop and pls don’t follow me to my train. We’re not allowed sign, take photos at the moment due to restrictions but when we can, I’ll happily talk the ears of each and everyone of you
Much love x"
Honestly! I despair.

Thank you all for the advice re the app. I do have a smart phone, but it's the apps I struggle with. You should have seen me trying to use the pinging one (I've deleted it now). The NHS letter seems to be the answer - watch this space!

This is all well and good, but for elderly theatregoers (and I count myself in this number), it's a no go (and yes, I realise this will be an unpopular post). None of my contemporaries have the NHS app (I don't mean the pinging one) and wouldn't know where to start, nor have we had reason to have any tests, but we are happily double jabbed. Oh well, I haven't been to the theatre since March 2020 (having gone at least once a month prior to lockdown), just as well I haven't booked for anything in the foreseeable future.

I found that somewhat underwhelming too. I didn't like the riffing and for the first time One Day More did absolutely nothing for me. What a shame.

If I had a free Wednesday or Thursday, I would make a short list of shows I liked the sound of, then make my way to the Tkts booth to see what they had available for the matinee. I never left empty handed and managed a couple of spectacularly good deals.

Half the orchestra, the touring version, but still West End prices.

On the one hand I want to book everything in sight. On the other (and discounting the possibility of everything being postponed yet again), I can't face the thought of sitting in a mask for several hours (show plus various modes of public transport) - so it's a NO for me at present.

A friend of mine who's never seen the film (unbelievable) saw the Sydney production and said that he got goosebumps Some friends of mine in Sydney saw it and said the tickets for their family of four cost more than their first car! Even so, they said it was worth every penny.

Reading about all the hassle everyone is having with rescheduled tickets, I'm so glad I took refunds for all mine last year. Although it depresses me more than anything, I've decided to wait until things are more settled before I start ticket buying again.

I'm at odds with the general consensus here. On the rare occasions I have been to a Sunday matinee I haven't enjoyed it at all, London feels all wrong, without its usual buzz (I'm talking pre-Covid, of course). I'm a midweek matinee gal through and through (OK, I'm retired, so that helps). On Sundays, though, I have travel issues, usually rail replacements and then the buses have stopped running when I finally reach my home station. Saturdays are better, apart from having to contend with football fans on my way home. I'm usually a lone theatregoer, so don't stay on for an evening show.

I logged in about 15 minutes ago out of interest, only to find I was 35,000+ in the queue! Might look again later.
