Was just thinking about this production recently, I really expected it to have a further life. I feel like the original announced run for 2020 was close to 6 months whereas this ended up running less due to not being able to open until end of June, and they must have lost out on about 2 weeks of performances when covid swept the company. I know we had the tour running at the same time and for many months after, which although was very inferior in production value, the average theatregoer seemed to love it anyway, so I guess no one was going to travel a long way to see it in London. I know there were rumours of it transferring into the Dominion, I’d have thought it would have sold better than Grease, Dirty Dancing and all the other limited runs that have ended up there. Maybe they didn’t want to transfer without Michael Ball attached again? I agree. I thought it was a sure thing that the show would transfer onto a longer life.

The cast also thought so.
