Such a shame. This really is a high wire act these productions are performing. Very scary how precarious it all is.

Cancelled until the 14th July Gutted for every person involved or affected. I just found out through one of my regular checks for a dynamic pricing bargain on Wednesday evening. It's now more likely there'll be a scramble to see a different shown as people are contacted.

That's a shame, but safety comes first.
Was planning to see this on Wednesday. I'll try again before the end of the month

Such a shame. Seems every time we take a step forward we take 2 back. That's 2 big shows now that have cancelled due to positive tests of cast/crew. Makes you think that the shows who delayed opening made the right decision. And the theatres have to stick to the letter as far as precautions are concerned.

Thoughts go out to those who bought tickets, transport and accommodation. Very hard for everyone and regrettable situation.

It’s a real shame. I still have tickets for September so will see it then if I don’t pick up something before then. Not sure I’ll get my dad back up for a visit though.
The box office were very quick to send me through a refund form, they have to do it as a bank transfer as I’d used a voucher from previously cancelled tickets. They’ve been very efficient so far.

It’s such a shame to see the show being cancelled. The performers and audience had a small taste of normality just for it all to be ripped away again.
I wonder how July 19th will affect everything once masks and social distancing stop being mandatory.

Edit: Oh of course Joseph!

Did anyone know where they put the todaytix rush seats by any chance? Were they a specific row or just a best available?

Gutted, was supposed to be seeing this Friday I can rearrange easily, thankfully, but feel for those who can't. They really need to sort out the isolation rules, it's not sustainable for any kind of cultural life.

I really think theatres should be insisting on face masks for the foreseeable future. If we are to have theatres open at 100% capacity, it seems the only way forward. That and negative covid tests before going in.

That and negative covid tests before going in. I agree. A big problem is the cast, crew and band too. If just one tests positive, it puts the entire production in peril.

I'm not saying I disagree with you both, but what is the point of lifting restrictions then still complying with them. I could test negative then catch it on the train on the way down

I could test negative then catch it on the train on the way down It's about mitigation. Just because the government is lifting compulsory restrictions, it doesn't mean businesses (and individuals) can't still take measures to protect their customers, their business and themselves. And due to the incubation period of Covid, catching it on the train on the way to the theatre will not affect any other member of the audience, as you don't become immediately infectious.

I could test negative then catch it on the train on the way down Because the government are incompetent and just because restrictions are being lifted doesn't mean they should be or that it is actually the sensible thing to do yet. Once everyone has been offered both vaccines it becomes potentially a different story but we aren't there yet. And even then it only changes if proof of vaccination or negative PCR test becomes compulsory.

I feel like anything that reduces the risk of a show having to close down has to be worth it. And wearing a mask and providing a negative test before going in is not really much to ask.

If the government said we no longer had to wear seatbelts, I probably still would.

I have tickets to see this on 20th July but I've just looked on Ticketmaster and it says the performance is cancelled - I'm assuming this is an error as I can't find any information about it unless somebody else has heard different?

Now you've got me worried. I'm supposed to be going on 21st matinee. Saw the original production several times.

Now you've got me worried. I'm supposed to be going on 21st matinee. Saw the original production several times. It doesn’t say anything about 21st, just 20th that says cancelled. I’ll have to give the box office a call.
