Agreed - although I'm also a Greg Ellis fan. I stick by what I said when Crazy was released - there is no emotion or performance in this 'Rusty' (at least on the recording). Very much 'singing-by-numbers'. I've got to be honest, having seen the show with Scott Haywood as Rusty, this recording has been somewhat of a disappointment compared to his vocals which suited the score better and with more warmth and exuberance in songs like Crazy. I saw the show last night with a single seat offer for the first class carriage section. It was my first time seeing Scott Hayward as Rusty and he was brilliant. He acted the part so well and actually made me believe he was in love with Pearl. He very quickly had the audience on his side. He’s perfect in the role. Also a fantastic skater! I think he should be first cast personally. His experience really shines though. Lara was on as Greaseball and she was fantastic as well. A really fun evening and I heard lots of “can we see it again” comments as we left the theatre. People really do love this show. |

I think it's pretty clear cut that when it closes in Wembley and if they can be bothered to move the production, it will go up North. Unlock a "new market". I think that would be a bad idea. I can’t see people travelling up north to see this. |

They’re not going to spend millions reshaping the Gillian Lynne, for a show that is already running in London. Obviously the show is doing well in London and when it comes to pack up, I could see the show doing a mini sit-down in Manchester and maybe Edinburgh, before going abroad maybe the US or Japan & Australia. Then it might come back to London.

I think that would be a bad idea. I can’t see people travelling up north to see this. People do already live in the North 😂 Yes, I know - my family do! But when tourists come to London to see shows, they often have other plans and make a weekend of it. I don’t think our northern cities have that same level of tourism. Especially not foreign tourism, with the exception of Edinburgh possibly, but even Edinburgh is quite a small city. I think Starlight could have another long London run if they would just put it back in a West End theatre. |

Honestly I think Birmingham would be back on the cards if they want a space like Bochum in the UK (That's what was planned for 2020 before covid hit and went silent). Edinburgh theatres won't accommodate it (I work in some and there is not enough space backstage or even on stage for that matter). If they would want to bring it up to Scotland, Glasgow might be the best bet with a space occupied in SECC or if they go an Arena Tour style maybe Hydro. I feel like the only way they might try to strike a deal with a theatre to do it like Apollo Victoria to make it have a WE transfer and like I have said before Dominion would be perfect I feel but this seems like a dream like scenario. To be honest ALW probably regrets closing it on the West End, especially when I heard in 2001 the tracks got the revamp to close a year later. |

It was still selling well when it closed in the West End. ALW just wanted the theatre for his new show - Bombay Dreams. There were no financial reasons to close it. It seems a no-brainer to me - people love this show. It’s a great option for families and has huge name recognition. Look how well Lion King is still doing… |

It's unlikely to return to the West End simply because ALW prefers the setup they have in Wembley and if it worked in Wembley then it could work else in London which has similar if not better connections like the O2, Stratford, Battersea etc

This show isn’t going to go into any conventional theatre when it tours, some warehouse somewhere. Could work as an arena show. I assume the set being used is not site specific and designed with a further life in mind.
