Without wanting to sound facetious, could you explain exactly what they are "ridiculously excited" about? I would assume the show itself. Thought that was fairly obvious from the post. Non theatre people saying that theyve heard lots about it and cant wait to see it for themselves when it reaches London. You implied only people on here are remotely interested so I offered an alternative viewpoint Not obvious at all; that's why I asked. But what about the show? What have they heard? I'm a big fan of musical theatre but I don't know much about it. Willing to be educated...

Im just going by very basic conversations. Those ive spoken to at greater length have been interested as much in the subject matter and musical genre as the hype. A few have asked for ticket buying advice. Whether it will be enough to sustain the show i truly dont know but it will give the show a solid start in London.

It came from Hamilton London and distinctly says you cannot use the Ticketmaster App. and that the code you get is for a one time use.

Personally I will probably not be seeing Hamilton in the first weeks to months. I have listend to the soundtrack and it is alright but I think people are just liking it because everyone else is and it is just mob mentality (not saying it is bad just over hyped) and I prefer more traditional musicals but for me if pop music is intertwined into a musical I want it like Natasha,Pierre and the great comet of 1812 as I really like the music in that and hope it comes to London. I will probably see it later on in it's run but for me this I should not a show I am very excited for.

Having seen it on Broadway i can assure you i dont like it just because others do

If you don't like it that's fine, but trying to decide why others like it is ridiculous. People like different things.

..but I think people are just liking it because everyone else is and it is just mob mentality (not saying it is bad just over hyped) I'm the sort of person who will happily dislike something purely because it's so popular and overhyped (yep, I'm bitter and twisted). I only watched a clip of Hamilton to prove to myself how bad it must be. Now I know most of the lyrics. Don't make assumptions!

Finally got my email!!!
I think it is hyped because it is fresh and new and it is filled with clever word combinations (though you might not catch them watchin the show due to speed).

A lot of what i like most of my friends havent heard of. Popularity does nothing for me

Got my email. Not very impressed they are basically saying if you signed up you still might not get tickets!

Got my email. Not very impressed they are basically saying if you signed up you still might not get tickets! Isn't that how all pre-sales work? They only have a limited amount of tickets available and if they go they go.

Checked over the email a few times, couldn't find anywhere that said what time the presale starts on Monday... Any ideas? 10am? 12pm?

Got my email. Not very impressed they are basically saying if you signed up you still might not get tickets! That would be as if everyone who got the email wants 4 tickets there wouldn't be enough. I'm sure a lot will only by 2 and many will buy none so we should be fine

They only have a limited amount of tickets available and if they go they go. Exactly - same happened when Adele's Wembley dates went on sale last month, some people didn't get tickets. I hope the booking for this isn't as bad as the 2 hour online queue I had for that one despite refreshing the page at exactly 10am!

I'm presuming that come 12pm on Monday, we press "Book Now" on the email & hope for the best? Indeed...my plan is to have the email open in Chrome, Firefox, Safari, IE, on my phone and tablet...6 shots at getting a good spot in the queue, and then roll with the highest placed one!

It says "12 Noon"... three times Definitely need to put the gin away... lol Just be sober at midday on Monday. I'm guessing it's gonna be difficult enough to get tickets anyway, even without being gin soaked ;-)

I'm glad I got my priority booking mail. (I'm even gladder I got tickets for Angels in America this morning.) But I’m also one of those who believe that the excitement on this side of the world seem to exist mainly among the people who follow the show. Apart from me, I don't know anyone else who has heard about Hamilton. Of course, the people I know may not be representative, but they certainly like shows and art in general.
I'm keeping cautious about the Hamilton, though. I am not very enthusiastic about the show’s music and, more especially, the lyrics. Maybe I’m just old school. But I am curious, and hoping that the staging will be good enough to justify at least part of the hype. It's always best to keep expectations under tight control and get pleasantly surprised in the end.
