Joe has been the victim of pretty intense online hate for years now. For some reason his casting in Sweeney seemed to push some of the worst trolls to escalate, throughout January they were spamming Twitter and Instagram with petitions to get him fired and threats to come to the theater and attack him, complete with hate speech, doctored photos, all very disturbing, probably hundreds if not thousands of tweets. Very sad to hear they’re still at it and have potentially been sending things directly to the theater. The Lunt-Fontanne’s security have apparently been speaking about this a lot and repeatedly telling people Joe won’t stage door because he’s feeling so anxious. But what exactly is the reason behind all of this mayhem? |

But what exactly is the reason behind all of this mayhem? I don’t think there is a logical reason for targeted harassment and threats. The online threats have been peppered with homophobia and insults related to his appearance (he’s received a lot of that online, sans threats, for a while now). Whoever is behind this escalation just seems unhinged and obsessed with him generally. |

I've just seen a bootleg clip on Instagram of Joe singing Not While I'm Around and woe, what a voice. I can see why he is getting raves. Acting seemed good too from the little you see.

“Sweet affectionate child” does nobody any favours as a phrase to try & cockernee does it? Sutton sounds slightly better than Ashford but still…Locke sounds great. If a proper bargain came up I might venture.

Anybody remember when it was originally booking until? Yes, May the 5th. It's not closing 'early'. At least officially (maybe behind the scenes they had hoped for an extension but who knows - some rumours online suggested they tried to get Sutton/Aaron to extend but they didn't). |
