Unless a miracle happens, I expect Tony’s jive to be lacking technique. But those 100, 000 Arsenal voters will see him through. Hope the People’s Choice Curse doesn’t hit Hamza.

Craig underscored so much tonight, robbed Fleur of a perfect score, should have given Hamza at least a 9, have Tyler a 6? I think Molly was deserving of a higher score overall too.

Found tonight's programme quite annoying with all these sob stories and People crying. It was like watching an episode of BGT.

Why has Motsi got a wicker basket attached to her head?

And why is Nikita dressed up as Jill Dando?
Will Tyler go off and paint a lovely landscape given that he was channelling his inner Bob Ross?

Shirley looks like the toffee in Quality Street and whoever edited the music for New York, New York should be shot.
I thought we were going to escape the sob story but no such luck, just got one from Fleur.

Well that was a fun show.
We're obviously dealing with the crop on this years celebrities.
Everybody seemed to up their game.
At one stage at the beginning I think (possibly for the first time ever) we saw beyond Claudia's fringe.
One or two dodgy camera angles, especially for Ellie & Johannes' dance. And whist they were being interviewed you could see them preparing the sub set for Helen & Gorka.
At times, I actually found the additional dancers distracting.
So glad to here the final song.
For anyone who may not be aware, the song was written a performed by Peter Allen. Despite being gay, Peter Allen was Liza Minnelli's first husband and came from a small country NSW town in Australia called Tenterfield, co-incidently where Craig Revel Harewood comes from.
In his day, Peter Allen was BIG! The musical the Boy From OZ that Hugh Jackman won his Tony Award for a couple of years ago was based upon Peter Allen's life.
Peter Allen was piano playing singer-songwriter. The song performed on tonights Strictly show was his biggest hit. He also write the sonf I Honestly Love You which was a hit for Olivia Newton-John. He also wrote a song call I Still Call Australia Home and every time there was some sort Royal Variety concert in Australia both Peter Allen and Rolf Harries used to always perform.
In dedication of his grandfather who was saddler (making saddles for horses) he wrote a song called Tenterfield Saddler.
He also won and Academy Award for writing a line in Arthur's Theme, sung by Christopher Cross; the line 'when you get caught between the moon and New York City'
He finally succumbed to an AIDS related illness, survived by his long-term partner.

I saw Hugh Jackman perform that number at his o2 concert.

I agree about the horrendous truncation of NYNY, clumsy and unprofessional. They usually save such atrocities for musicals week. Other Peter Allen co-writes worth a listen are Don't Cry Out Loud, Quiet Please There's a Lady Onstage and I'd Rather Leave While I'm in Love, Love Don't Need a Reason, I Could've Been a Sailor.... Molly made the least memorable impression tonight, so I think it might be time for her or Kym to go.

The Peter Allen song was also used for Faye Tozer’s Samba back in 2018.

I'm taking a leaf out of Will's book today by wearing my very stylish fluorescent blue sweater. If only I had a pair of fluorescent pink slacks!
When he went and stood next to Tess, in her fluorescent green frock, I was worried my TV was going to explode.

Expect a lot of cringeworthy filler on Saturday if they're one couple down.

Anyone else notice that in the absence of Kym & Grazianno, how long the VT's were?

Short, wasn't it? It seemed to be over almost as soon as it had begun. I had time afterwards to watch Ever Decreasing Circles, with a bizarre dream sequence, and a dodgy Colin Firth film.
Something must have happened in the wardrobe department. Everybody was dressed sensibly!

Quite a lacklustre show tonight. Fleur and Vito's Rhumba and Gorka's solo were the only things that held my attention.

The music choices are getting worse. The tango needs to have a tango feel for it to work for me. Not just a pop song that happens to have the appropriate time signature.
I adore Libertango as a piece of music and in the right arrangement it is perfect for an Argentine Tango.
But whoever chose that extract needs to go back to school. It lacked the atmosphere and tension to be a proper AT
I know that after 20 years they have used all the obvious tracks. But the answer is to work harder not just make bad arrangements of tracks that will just about do.

Wow that opening was not good at all. I thought it was dreadful. As an avid musicals lover, I began to question whether I even liked them!
