Will Charlie do all of the performances, barring illness/holiday? I’d like to book for a midweek matinee but am concerned he won’t be on.
Any help would be appreciated.
😄❤️

After seeing it on West End Live I don’t think I will bother as know it won’t live up to the Kirby Ward,Ruthie Henshall production.

Has anyone heard of any other performers asking for an ice bath in their dressing room? Also the parallels with Mary Poppins, Crazy For You and Fred Astaire comparisons, it really feels like he’s following in Gavin Lee’s footsteps!

Has anyone heard of any other performers asking for an ice bath in their dressing room? I don't know about dancers in musicals but I've certainly seen ballet dancers posting on social media about having ice baths post-performance. I was surprised to see in the article that Stemp is almost 30. I suppose it is several years now since Half A Sixpence but he still looks very young in the Crazy For You production pictures.

Ice baths and cold showers are pretty common among anyone who trains any sport or just goes to the gym or runs to keep fit. So no surprise a dancer and lead actor in a west end show would want one.
I get the concern over this production too. I loved the original in the 90s and the last UK tour and the Regents Park productions were pretty poor so I'm cautiously optimistic on this. Chichester rarely puts a foot wrong (except Me and My Girl).
Actually Charlie would be a great Bill in a few years.

All the big dance shows (your Matthew Bournes, your Ramberts etc) have ice baths for their performers. They tour their own inflatable ones, but several touring houses have baths backstage, Milton Keynes and Nottingham Theatre Royal for examplee.

I was there and it was an incredible night, the best I’ve spent in a theatre for years.
I loved the show in Chichester, but this transfer is even better. It looks like they’ve spent a fortune on it, set, costumes, orchestra. All top rate.
And of course that choreography, just unbeatable in its wit and ingenuity. I got rhythm absolutely brought the house down. And Slap that Bass and Stiff upper lip.
Outstanding performances from Charlie Stemp, Carly Anderson and Tom Edden. If Charlie and Tom don’t win next years Oliviers then we should all just give up.
An unforgettable night and on my way home I immediately booked to see it again. Book without delay!!!

I saw this three times in Chichester, and its true it's somehow even better here.
Perfectly suited to the Gillian Lynne, the numbers fill the stage in an absolutely glorious fashion - dance has never seemed so thrilling as it is in this production.
Charlie Stemp is just perfect in this role, he's elevated it above where he was in Chichester and if they don't give him the Olivier for this, I dunno what we have to do. Depending on how they work the acting nominations for Mincemeat (as in, do they get an ensemble nod or individual) I'd say Tom Edden is almost a lock too.
Can't wait to see it again - feels like the West End is finally back in a place where we've got great shows on in a good portion of our houses again!

Has the pit been reduced from Chichester? How many musicians were there?

Can you recall if the front row is C, and if the front stalls were raked please? Or flat floor seating from C to H?
TheatreMonkey says they’re usually raked, but doesn’t confirm for this show yet given it’s only just started previews. Thanks in advance!

I'm seeing it next week and looking forward to it.
I wonder if Broadway is on the cards after the London run? There's not been a production of Crazy For You on Broadway since the original closed in 1996.

Row C is the front row, stage looks above eye height, pretty sure the rows behind it are raked.
