Thrilled about this - a sensation at Chich and fully deserves to be in the West End. Nice lengthy run, and into the next year of Oliviers to (I hope) finally get Stemp his deserving win. This won’t be eligible until the 2024 Oliviers, and then he’ll have whoever is playing MJ to contend with, rumoured to be Myles Frost repeating his (Tony award winning) performance. MJ will open too late, the cutoff is mid feb for Oliviers and MJ isn’t until March Also Gabriel Vick in Doubtfire. Good to have some competition!

Interestingly no performance on November 30th. Looks like they’ve already booked their slot on the Royal Variety show (or are hopeful to be asked!)

Ticket prices a bit of a jump up , seat I was in for Cinderella is £45 higher for this show and the £25 price they display on the email seems to be very few. But judging by the seating charts it's selling well already.

But judging by the seating charts it's selling well already. When I booked earlier this morning there were loads of £25 seats for the date I booked so I'm guessing they have been snapped up.

Booked next to normal on a whim because of the cheaper seat price. Definitely going to make a trip out of it and catch this.
I know nothing about this show but Charlie Stemp and word of mouth have sold me!

Blimey those ticket prices are a bit steep managed to get a side view. I saw it 4 times in Chichester but I think it will just be the one visit in the West End

My friend and I are excited by the £25 seats in the stalls. Having sat here before I feel they offer fairly good value!
Question for those in the know and have seen this before. Was it played with a big orchestra in Chichester? To my knowledge (I could be way off) but the Gillian Lynne doesn’t seem to have much ‘space’ for this. The ‘band’ for School of Rock and Cinderella were up in the little boxes beside the stage. I imagine the orchestra for Cats back in the day was a bit bigger. Where will they go? Is it likely to be reduced? Is there room below the stage and the crazy revolve!? Hoping it will sound great!

Not too much excitement on the board yet for this one! I'm on the fence about seeing it atm. Not that bothered about the show but would like to see Charlie Stemp

I can’t remember exactly how big the orchestra was in Chichester but it certainly sounded fairly full, I wasn’t disappointed by the sound. At CFT they usually build a platform above the stage for the orchestra, and I believe that’s what they did for Crazy For You. Whether they can do the same thing at the Gillian Lynne I don’t know.

I can live with song synth strings or more likely strings on a track but I'd definitely miss that brassy Gershwin sound. Hopefully that's live at least!

Managed to get central row C of the stalls through the 'lottery' today for Friday 30th June for £40 instead of £99.50 so I'm pretty happy with deal. Quite a few ticket options were available throughout the theatre from £20 to £50 through the lottery.
Looking forward to seeing this!

I was in an amateur version of this last year and honestly some of the plot is pretty bizarre - especially the whole Fodor subplot and the song Stiff Upper Lip (every night I did ask myself ‘why ARE these characters here?), as well as the incredibly abrupt ending. It’s a very fun show, but I can imagine people going in blind will find it really weird!
