Will they ever get another production on at The Bridge? Only once it becomes unprofitable to keep G&D on. Which I don’t expect to happen before 2025 if it starts getting awards clout.

If it’s not eligible for any Olivier Awards, what other awards could it win tbst would mean anything for the box office?

I’m not saying there AREN’T other awards. My point was for a show this far into its run that’s seen box office slow down like this has, Olivier awards would be the only awards I can think of that could possibly help it out. But even those are something like 6 months away so who knows if this will even be running then.

At least it frees Nick Hytner up to do other stuff elsewhere? I imagine he rehearses the new cast in to some extent but much of that might be done by an assistant director. Wouldn't it be great to see him direct something as part of his new RSC role?

Saw this again last night - still fantastic... seats were around 2/3 full and standing audience around 50% capacity. On a Friday night....

I last went at the end of August - a Thursday IIRC - and the standing area was so empty that we all managed to form a one-person-deep ring around the stage. Wasn't any need to move since virtually everyone was able to lean against the boxes. Just trying to get a feel for when the quietest days tend to be cos the thought of the moshpit level numbers in the promos unnerves me.

This middling attendance bodes ill for the future, it seems to me, especially without Oliviers to come (which are months away in any case as others have said). Hey ho. Let's hope Andrew Richardson gets a great send-off today - and I look forward to seeing George's Sky next week, with Daniel back as well.

Went back last night and the standing section seemed busy enough, I assume they give away a lot of tickets to students?
Charlotte Scott was on as Sarah and while no one can compare to Celinde for me, she was great. Her If I Were A Bell was pretty wild!
Great to see Daniel Mays back as well, he seemed to be having a great time up there and it was like he had never been away.
Can’t wait to go again!

I saw this again last night (Friday evening). This time, it was from the Stalls, row CC. I'd had a tiring day, so glad I went for a seat. Only £30 with the TodayTix Black Friday sale. There was a small pole at a front angle from me, but it really didn't bother me. In return, there's no seat directly in front, so lots of leg room. It is in an odd block, seats not connected to the main sections (where the stage would be) and lots of ushers trying to direct you and making sure you don't end up in the dressing rooms, which have an adjacent entrance. A downside is, you're ushered out afterwards and can't enjoy the stage party.
It was a rather full audience, including in the pit area, so I'm glad I wasn't standing. It can be hard to see. I was surprised at several people wearing masks, but who then crammed right into the thick of things. Interesting to see things from a different angle, and how hard the ushers and stage setting staff have to work to clear people from the floor and make sure that all the props are in place on time.
The main reason I rushed back was to see Jack Butterworth on as Sky Masterson. Jack didn't disappoint. He sang Luck Be A Lady beautifully, and he also got to dance with Iroy Abesamis.
I don't know if it was just my seeing things from a different angle, but it looked like there was a lot of improvisation and there were some scenes that seemed to be staged differently, particular Sit Down, You're Rockin' The Boat. A huge amount of audience energy and you can definitely see why this keeps extending.
Running time for this is still advertised at 2 hours 30 minutes, but it was 22:30 before I was out. It would be much longer if you'd joined the dancing at end, or if you'd checked in coats.
I'll be back, but most likely not until the new year.

He sang Luck Be A Lady beautifully I went last night and was shocked that he's from the ensemble (according to the show's cast page)... he's terrific! Great charisma, great singing and dancing.. and he looked like he was having a ball! Marisha Wallace is also someone I'll be looking out for in future (especially if she ever does straight-up blues or jazz singing in a club). And Daniel Mays was as wonderful as expected. The experience ends on such a high, sending everyone out laughing and singing. The only annoyance during the evening was two young women who managed to take selfies all the time, everywhere (complete with coy poses and pouty mouth), including in the ladies toilet!

Finally got round to seeing this. Can't believe it has been on for 8 months already.
It's a show i've seen more than a few times over the years in various productions, so didn't rush out to see it. But maybe I should have because I was a little undewhelmed, especially given the great reviews and comments it received.
The majority of the seating was taken, but it was very quiet in the standing area and I would imagine that generates a good atmosphere when busy. Lydia Bannister (i think it was her) was on for Adelaide. After hearing so much about Marisha making Adelaide 'a real person rather than a charicature' or something like that, I was expecting something different. Obviously Marisha wasn't on, but I don't know if the understudy is doing the same thing or something of her own. Either way, this Adelaide was like she always has been, just an octive lower than previously. George Ioannides is way to young to be playing Sky. Daniel Mays. I didn't like all the twitching and constant moving he did as Nathan. Guys and Dolls is often done in a certain stylised way, but this productions seemed to move away from that, not quite so over the top as previous productions, but his Nathan seemed like it was lifted directly out from the stylised show and dropped into this one.
The staging was inventive and interesting, though it did leave some playing areas too small and at some points, such as the Havana scene, the action got lost. Unfortunately it wasn't half as funny as the Havana scene in National production. Jo Riding was hilarious. The score is classic after classic and sounded great from the orchestra and was sung wonderfully by the cast.

I feel like they all read too young. Daniel and Marisha both look like they're 30. They should look physically like they're both well past 40. They've been engaged for 14 years. I feel like there are no stakes with this Adelaide. You should really feel that she's over the hill. I preferred Sophie Thompson's performance ten years ago. And yes George looks very young to play the experienced Sky.
