I think it's more 'David Cummings over Jamie Parker' which I again cannot forgive.

I thought Jamie had a good chance of winning it so him not even being nominated was one the biggest surprises for me.

Jamie definitively became one of my favourite Dans but he had a shakey start and there were always some mixed views on his vocals. So while it might be a little disappointing for some I wouldn’t say it’s shocking personally.

I think it’s a huge shock, Jamie gives one of the most heartbreaking, guttural, raw performances I have ever seen (let alone seen in an actor playing Dan) and many many people came away triumphing him, so yes, a huge shock.

I agree that Jamie’s performance was phenomenal, but I also think his voice didn’t always suit the style of music which did detract slightly from the overall performance.

David Thaxton didn't get the nomination over Jamie. David is likely going to win.

Did he have a shakey start or were people expecting to see the same Dan that is on the recording and every other production of N2N?
I had absolutrly no issues with his vocal performance. His Dan was the heart of the production for me. He's struggling to keep himself and family together, desperately trying to keep going forward, and his second act performance was so raw and visceral that i'll never forget it.
Other performances in that cast seemed very 1 note in comparrison.

Sadly all that seemed to be was them teasing their new artwork. Not sure why that is something that needed to be teased.
Would love a cast rec for this.

You can only assume whoever's done the artwork hasn't seen the show...

I think its a reference to Henry's character and attempting to make it psychodelic, while also presenting it from Diana's perspective (in that it seems like a feminine figure), but that's just me being kind maybe?

It’s awful. Nothing about that will make anyone see the show. It’s so ugly and cheap.

Yes it reminds me of Hair too, and doesn't look at all like Caissie Levy's character, Diana. They should have just reused the Donmar artwork which was far classier.

....I'm doubly disappointed by the artwork and the "announcement". Will not lose hope on the cast recording, fingers crossed.

You can only assume whoever's done the artwork hasn't seen the show... The design is so close to the famous Dylan poster created by Milton Glazer, America’s greatest graphic designer it’s going to be hard to defend legally. Why rip off someone else’s work so obviously? It’s lazy and pointless marketing. Was AI involved ? And of all the designers to rip off why choose Glazer? He is so revered and copyrighted. Also has a strong track record of Broadway artworks including creating the original art for The Wiz and the greatest campaign logo of them all, I ❤️ N Y.

Love it, interesting they are returning to the kind of familiar original Broadway purple. Maybe it's hard to disassociate the Donmar production but I wouldn't say it actually feels like this production though in a weird way.

I don’t think it’s a rip off but a direct reference to it. Is there a Dylan reference in the show?

Even a ‘direct reference’ would need to be covered with some sort of bi line credit to the estate of Milton Glazer. Even where you don’t know the source of the artwork you add a line saying that all possible avenues for creditation and copyright securing were explored along with supplying a contact address. Can’t find one anywhere. Maybe they have paid for taking a direct reference without crediting ? Or is it AI generated?

Yes it reminds me of Hair too, and doesn't look at all like Caissie Levy's character, Diana. They should have just reused the Donmar artwork which was far classier. My immediate thought yesterday was that it was... an homage to Caissie having been in Hair when the 2009 Broadway revival production played here in London for a few months Unfortunately, it didn't make me think of Next to Normal and specifically the Donmar production in any way... and after the build up in the days leading to it, I must say was a bit underwhelmed as I was dreaming of a London cast recording (but maybe that's just me being too hopeful). The reference to Milton Glazer's poster is evident. There are differences between the N2N artwork and the Dylan poster, and they may be considered to be enough to impart some distinctive character, which legally may make it ok. And yet... even just going from a profile view to a front view, whilst still playing with the same visual idea for the hair, would have been a bit more creative.
