For some reason I thought Jamie's Dan was already announced, but am absolutely thrilled with their choice for Natalie. Having seen Eleanor in Secret Life of Bees recently, she was phenomenal in that and literally talked in our friendship group how great she would be as Natalie, so am glad this actually happened. Don't know either of the two male juvenile leads, but am hopeful that their casting matches the great casting for the other four roles. :-)

The fact that an original Matilda is now old enough to play Natalie makes me feel so old.

So I messed up and didn’t get round to booking a ticket and can now only get standing. Has anyone stood at the Donmar? How is it? Many thanks :-) It’s fine if you are okay (physically) to stand for the duration. I’ve not done it in years but was stood behind the back row and could lean, it was fine.

Excited by this cast announcement and just bagged two standing tickets for the final performance.
I have a feeling I’m going to love it when I see it earlier in the run, so didn’t want to miss out on seeing it more than once!

Many thanks :-) Honestly I don't like standing at the Donmar, mostly because there's no distance between you and the people sat in front, if they could just put in a separate bar to lean on for standing people and/or a slighty raised platform it would be fine. That being said they do seem to seat standees in any free seats when people don't turn up so quite often you can end up seated.

I’ll be visiting late Aug through early Sept. I’m going Sept. 2 but just bought a standing ticket for Sept. 4! I’m so excited.

Excited for this too and wishing I’d bought more than one night’s tickets now! It’s been a long wait to see this in the UK - is there any hope of future transfers?

I had stalls tickets for the last week but bought two more tickets (standing) for the penultimate evening just in case!
I can't wait after seeing on Broadway a very long time ago!

This is shaping up to be the London theatrical event of the year! What an incredible cast.
We might have had to wait 14 years for a transfer but they’re making it worth our while!

Has standing already been sold? I thought they only sold them a week or so before the date…

Quite a bit late to the bandwagon, just saw that this is marked as sold out.
I'm not familiar with the Donmar at all, how likely is it that more tickets will become available in the future ?

Standing also has been released and sold so I would think (subject to returns) that this is it.

I guess more rehearsal time is needed if they're cancelling it two months before opening.

First preview has been cancelled - I had half a suss this might happen What does that mean for those ticketholders if the rest of the run's sold out? I called up as soon as I saw the email and got moved to the 19th, centre Stalls row C which is only one row behind the seat I had for the 12th.

They did the same for The Bands Visit quite ahead of time - I don't know why they put the Saturdays on sale if they're just gonna cancel them

Woahhh what? I have tickets for the first preview and haven’t had an email to say it’s cancelled? I’ve been wanting to see this show for ages and isn’t the rest of the run sold out?

I figure the Donmar has a few seats here and there held back across the run but probably not a lot so I think it'll be a case of a refund unfortunately.
Has happened to me a few times and it's the luck of the draw with a first preview I find.

We can only hope it transfers. Demand is way outstripping supply. The good news is there are plenty of smaller West End houses currently unbooked where it could go.

The bad news is two of its leads are booked and busy after this.
