Well my view is that last nights performances were pretty awful. I swear Eurovision is getting worse and worse each year. I am a big Eurovision fan and watched it every year since I was a child which is a very long time ago. The days when Katie Boyle was the compare. I guess I am a bit of a traditionalist and like the old style "pop" songs. Most of my favourite Eurovision songs come from the 80s. Anyway didn't think much of any of the songs. I am reliably informed that Thursdays offerings are better. So glad there was an audience as I had read there would be no audience. Didn't like Sweden's song as I prefer their quirky pop style of previous years. The rest were dreary ballads and lazy efforts from the eastern block countries. And what was that song where a woman dressed in green seemed to just repeat the word "stereo" over and over again. Bring back the Russian grannies and scantily clad women churning milk Anyway I will be watching again on Thursday and Saturday and no doubt shouting at the screen when the "political" voting takes place.

Has anyone ever seen Kerry Ellis and the Irish entry in the same room? Thought not.

A member of the Iceland band has tested positive for corona virus so it's just been announced that they're pulling out of the live shows, the song remains in the competition and EBU will use their rehearsal recording. Poland and Malta back in isolation again as they all stay in the same hotel

I got 10. 2 of them I should have gone with my gut feeling and then I would have got 12 also.

Yesssss Iceland are through! Some of you may know I’m an Icelandophile, Reykjavik is my happy place! After last year when they should have won, and the fact they can’t perform, I feel it would be ace if they won on Saturday!

Disappointed that Estonia, Austria and Denmark didn't get through tonight. Out of the 20 put through I would have put 11 of them through. Those with decent voices seem to have lost out. Oh well...

So many mediocre to poor songs this year. I don't honestly care about any of them at this point. And I say that as a pretty dedicated Eurovision fan.
There is so little fun this year. So little joy.
Nothing that Petra and Mans can poke fun at in their next interval act.
Over serious ballads. Attempts at quirkiness that just don't land. Up tempo songs that fail to get you on your feet. There are very few songs that I actively dislike. But nothing that makes me excited. Nothing.
It is a collective failure. And as one of my usual highlights of the year, it is a huge disappointment.

More cape action last night, BurlyBeaR. This time on one of the hosts. You are, of course, the expert on such matters, but I would describe her entire ensemble as being teal in colour. She would go missing in your luxury loft apartment! 🤣

They've done an amazing job with the staging, the LED screens, the lighting and the pyro's: it's really all come together well and someone mentioned on the radio today that they're adding additional physical and VR effects into the grand final I keep changing my favourites however Malta's great and they're ending the show with San Marino which is a real banger of a song Personally, I'm not getting the love for France or Switzerland (which means one of those will probably win) Roll on tomorrow night, it's about time we had a few hours of escapism

Italy is the one with the betting momentum. Or at least it was last night
The French entry is OK until it starts speeding up in a very frantic way for no reason. I love a good Piaf moment but the song isn't good enough throughout.
Switzerland just leaves me cold. Totally unengaging.
The German entry has a decent level of madness but the lyrics are unintelligible and the big finger is a step too far.

I still like Cyprus. And it's nice to have some (sort of) hard rock from Finland and Italy. And I have a soft spot for the craziness of Lithuania. Would not be unhappy with a Malta win. I thought the French entry was better in its official video. I didn't realize Germany was in such financial straits that it decided to not field a legitimate entry. And, well, the UK entry doesn't suck. It won't win - but has a shot at the left side.

I think the UK staging is really naff. I like the song but the clips I've seen of the rehearsals don't fill me with optimism. I think we could end up very low again, which would be a great shame as James Newman has worked really hard on Eurovision for two years and he's a good bloke.
France and Ukraine are my favourites, wish I'd put some money on Ukraine months ago when everyone was just calling it weird, it's now the 4th favourite. Wouldn't mind if Malta won, would be lovely to go to Valletta next May; don't really understand the love for Italy but that's simply a matter of musical taste.
The big question is whether Dadi Freyr could possibly be the first person to win Eurovision whilst never having appeared on a live Eurovision show...

I would love Iceland to win. Firstly its a quirky fun song but these poor guys have really been through it. Last year almost dead cert to win and the contest cancelled and then this year someone being Covid positive at the last minute. Hope they get some sympathy votes as well as votes for the songs. As for the UK we will probably do badly as always and its nothing to do with the song as its not bad at all. But, no one likes us and as the contest is purely political they won't vote for us. Would be lovely to be on the left hand side of the board but I don't think that will happen.

My devotion ion is split three ways; between Australia (why are they even in it?), the UK and Malta.
Although I am Australian, I'm on Maltese heritage.
I've already told my sister that should Malta win and if they have to host it next year, were gonna get tickets and go.

Well anthony40 your life is a fraction easier tonight as Australia didn't make it through from the semis so you only have two countries to pick from tonight. Malta are a favorite, great song, charismatic singer and fantastic performance. Or there's the UK.

ICELAND, ICELAND, ICELAND. I have been manifesting them from the very beginning. It's such a shame they won't perform live but at least they are still eligible.
Other favourites : Portugal, France, Israel ... and Serbia's stage presence is CRAZYYYYYY.
I think our UK entry is cool, very soulful and appreciate the sentiment behind the show too.
