Hello! I'm trying to compile a list of songs that, for whatever reason, were added after a show opened. Examples: Our Little World: Into the Woods You Make Me Happy: Annie A Change in Me: Beauty and the Beast Forever: Shrek

Marry me a little - Company
Country House, Ahh but underneath, Make the most of your music - Follies
Some songs rewritten for the film of Night music. Not sure if that counts?
Beggar Woman's lullaby - Sweeney
Dress Big, Hades, Ariadne, All abroad - The Frogs. Plus other songs were expanded.
Something just broke - Assassins
I'm not even going to go into Candide or Road Show!

I'm stretching the question somewhat, but Oklahoma only became Oklahoma when Oklahoma was added to a musical that had been called, until then, Away We Go! (The ! was R&H's, not mine! 🙂)

Lots of ‘Martin Guerre’ was added after opening...then taken away...then rewritten...then added again...then taken away...then put in a different order...then put back.

Gosh, loads.
Could do the ALW ones.
Joseph - About half of it. King Of My Heart for the 00s version. JCS - Could We Start Again Please (well, added for the stage version I guess) Evita - You Must Love Me Cats - The various Italian things that replaced Ballad Of Billy McCaw. Song and Dance - Unexpected Song (though melody was already there) Starlight - Make Up My Heart, Crazy, Next Time You Fall In Love, I Do, Whole Lotta Locomotion, I Got Me, Megamix (deffo the ALW show with the most new songs). Sunset - many interlinking sections By Jeeves - About half of it compared to Jeeves Whistle Down The Wind - The Gang Beautiful Game - Boys In The Photograph Tell Me On A Sunday - Multiple, for the DVO version. Wizard of Oz - 5 new ALW songs Love Never Dies - new melody to verses in Beauty Underneath (and lots of re-ordering of stuff)
Phantom stage show, Aspects, Woman In White, School of Rock have yet (I think) to get a new song!
There are also loads of songs removed and general re-writing. "Musicals aren't written, they are re-written" as they always say.
A couple of other from faves of mine. Miss Saigon - Maybe (God I wish they'd put It's Her Or Me back in). Chess - Someone Else's Story. Then that Act 2 opener that Burke sang at the ENO.

Off topic, but I say ‘no’ to Heathers too. 😑 But ended up being the best standalone ‘song’ in the show.

I believe (when it's eventually ever filmed- they've just announced a new director) there will be new songs added to Wicked

What about Chess?
There was the original concept album, then when it was staged in the West End the song The Soviet Machine was added.
Then when it went to Broadway the song Someone Else's Story was added.
Incidentally, when the original concept album was remastered another song- The Press Conference was added to that recording. I downloaded it from i-Tunes.

Wasn't 'Dancing Through Life' added to Wicked after San Francisco? It replaced one called 'Life Of The Party' I think. And one called 'Making Good' was dropped and replaced with 'The Wizard & I' 😁

Wizard and I was written especially for Idina Menzel when she was cast for Broadway.

Wizard of Oz - 5 new ALW songs I see Lloyd Webber's version of The Wizard of Oz more as a new adaptation than a revival as it has a different book by himself and Jeremy Sams to the 1987 RSC adaptation by John Kane which is the one that many regional theatres/schools/amdrams have since used (granted it is still very close to the film's screenplay - which arguably so is ALW's). So I think the fact ALW and Tim Rice felt the need to add more songs was what gave the whole thing a complete overhaul to work on stage. But whilst the Birmingham REP's 2018 production looked and sounded like Oz as never before, it was still the RSC adaptation (with a few extra lines/references to the gender changes etc.), however that production included the apple trees singing a song as the set changed into the Tin Man scene. I'm not sure what the lyrics were, nor can I find the song online but the music was the same bit that you hear as the underscore in the film as Dorothy goes to take an apple from the tree. So maybe lyrics were added to that piece of music for that specific production, as I don't believe it has been in any other...? Onto another musical, Tim Minchin recently revealed that he has written a new song for the upcoming Matilda movie so I wonder if that will that be added to the stage show in the same way that "Could We Start Again Please" (Jesus Christ Superstar) "Mean Green Mother" (Little Shop of Horrors) and probably other examples were subsequently added.
