Thanks filendile and no worries Paulw! I did manage to find it in the end and got a quick picture with both Kerry and Bonnie. I meant to tell Carly Mercedes Dyer how fantastic she’s been every single time as well but didn’t notice she’d even come out until she was chatting to some friends. I will miss this show a lot, at least we have the proshot though which I’m sure I’ll rewatch to death! Glad you got to see them and had a good night. By the proshoot I’m guessing you mean the one from last year?

I’m not a huge fan of musicals but thought I’d give this a go as I managed to snag a half price ticket. Can’t say I hugely loved it but I suspect that was largely due to personal taste re musicals. It’s clearly a well-made production.
The two younger leads had weaker voices than I’d expect for a production like this but Kerry Ellis (who I hadn’t heard of before today!) was excellent. The clear highlights for me were the the whole sequence before the interval and Blow Gabriel Blow.
I thought the sound levels not just of the orchestra but the cast (and especially Kerry) were on the low side, but then again I was right at the very back (hence the cheap, last minute ticket!).
And for what it’s worth, I thought Bonnie Langford was great!

Are there plans to bring back Anything Goes in the future? Kerry Ellis said something cryptic like 'Goodbye... for now' on instagram but I know it didn't sell great on tour and London was discounted so I would be surprised.
I caught closing night last night and really do love this show. No speeches or anything special which was to be expected but there were some standing ovations midshow after Anything Goes and Blow Gabriel, Blow. I thought the orchestra was going very fast at times, especially the start of Anything Goes, which I didn't notice the other two times I went.

The conductor evidently had somewhere to be last night because the beginning of the title number was almost at double speed!

Kerry Ellis If/Then is happening. Good - any idea where/when? Nothing yet, but backers are in place. Venue hunt and workshops to come.

Well it’s hardly going to be a prime venue if this happens. Maybe the Arts or off west end.

Are Dvds that much of a thing these days? I can't talk though. I don't have one of these posh tellys and when it was on TV over Christmas I actually recorded it. On a proper tape!

I still buy dvds/blu rays. Streaming is all very well but if you really like something you can't rely on a streaming service keeping it there forever. So I have hard copies of all favourite films/tv shows

I just checked BBC iPlayer and it still says “available for over a year” so most of us can keep streaming it for free for the foreseeable!

I just watched this the other day. I’m clearing room on the Sky box in time for Christmas… by watching the stuff I recorded last Christmas and never got round to watching. 🤦🏻♂️
The complaints on here put me off watching it, but I thought it was a great recording.

It´s good... but for such a wonderful production with a terrific cast and band; it should´ve been extraordinary.

Watching it in a cinema for the first time was great as I'd never seen the production. But that sound wasn't good. I wanted to feel like I was in a theatre but it was more like I was at home at 12am trying to not disturb the neighbours.
It was only when I saw it on tour was when I truly fell in love with the production.

Sadly the recording doesn’t do the show justice at all.

It's also coming back to cinemas in March - TBA Is this going to be officially announced soon? (My original question was "is it still going ahead" but I did a bit of googling and found out that it is.) It's listed at various independent cinemas for a few dates in March, none of the big chains though which I find odd. And I only found that by going through the Anything Goes Cinema website, they haven't announced anything on their social media... Was this originally supposed to be part of a big campaign for the DVD release and it's fallen through?

Not sure I'll be honest - we got the email through asking if we'd like to screen it again where I work in November, but I didn't think we'd have an audience considering it's on iPlayer so didn't follow up.
