I was in last night too, there were a few people overly chatty and one occasion where during a quiet part of a song, someone in the stalls could be heard quite clearly chuntering on to their friend, followed by a loud and sharp "SSSSH!" I could also swear that a woman near me was singing loudly during Blow Gabriel Blow. I ignored her because I suspect it was an attention thing - sweetheart, I can sing too, but witness me shutting the hell up! Enjoyed the show, though I did expect more volume from Kerry at some points, and the lady playing Hope was rather bland, but I'm not sure what else she could have done with Hope! I think the chatty people you're referring to are the ones behind me that I mentioned too! It was a married couple and a friend, they just kept whispering and of course I've already mentioned the husband's 'behaviour'. The theatre wasn't anywhere near full though so I felt like it was pretty dead otherwise. I also feel the exact same way about people who sing during shows...I'm a professional singer but I know when to shut up! It's always the tone deaf who do it! I also agree with whoever said Kerry lacked a bit of volume as well, I felt like she was holding back at times but made up for it with the big notes.

Kerry was off last night and is off tonight as well, sounds like she came back too soon from whatever made her miss shows last weekend. Makes sense now why she sounded a bit underpowered at points on Monday from reports on here. Was going to rush tomorrow but I really wanted to see Kerry again.

I've gained massive respect for Kerry if she was sick on Monday as although she lacked a bit of projection, she absolutely killed everything else- You would never have been able to tell if she wasn't feeling her best!

It’s anyone’s guess really, pretty sure these absences weren’t scheduled so just depends if she’s feeling better.

From her social media she appeared to be on holiday last week rather than ill, but she could easily have picked up an illness while she was off.

Thursday evening trip with a great rush seat, although with the number of coughers near me, I’m expecting to be ill.
Sammy Kelly was on as Reno, but there were no signs up anywhere to say this. Every bit as good as Kerry. Fantastic reception for her at the end too.
Glad to have finally seen Bonnie too. Owned the role and even did a high kick at the end.
A little bonus. Both George Beet and Josh Barnett were on as swings.
Apart from the coughing and talking, generally a good audience too. Plus more seats sold than last time I was in (but not sure if the top level was open).

Saw this last night and enjoyed it a lot. All of the main cast were on and the audience, including my partner and I, lapped it up.
This is the strongest Kerry Ellis performance I’ve seen. In Wicked, I thought she was very powerful vocally, but appeared bored with playing the role. In Wonderland, she seemed bored all-round (constantly tucking her hair behind her ears and seemingly not knowing what to do with herself at all) and, to me, her vocals seemed strained at times.
In Anything Goes, she seemed to be enjoying herself. Her vocals were under-powered (I expected far greater volume and far ‘bigger’ singing like LuPone and Paige in the role), but her dancing and overall performance were very engaging. Part of this, of course, might be that the whole company, from the chorus to the other principals, are so good that Ellis has to give it her all in order to just ‘keep up with them’. Ellis, therefore, does lead this well because of the company ‘keeping her on her toes’, I think.
Callow is not a great singer, but his acting performance is delightful and Bonnie Langford brings wonderful comedy to her role. I also enjoyed the performance of the lady playing Erma (not sure of her name, but she was a bit of a scene-stealer at times).
This was my first visit to a theatre since the pandemic and I really enjoyed it. It was nice to see Kerry seemingly engaged with her performance - just a shame she doesn’t give it a ‘bit more welly’ at times.

Saw the show tonight - I’ll agree with you that her vocals were underpowered at times but her overall performance and especially dancing was really impressive. The show is in safe hands and the audience loved it.

Can I be dressed as a sailor on shore-leave l.e normal street clothes? It doesn’t say anything about being an on duty sailor…

There's a good offer currently available via Show Film First. I accessed it via a Google Search and their " Non Members" "Box Office" section so it's not seat filling or restricted as far I can tell.
The banner refers to a £36 price but it's actually a flat rate £18 for £79.50 and £60.00 seats at all Monday-Saturday evening performances from today until 31 August and one matinee on 31 August.

James1969 picture reminded me that I meant to post a note about the shows merchandise Don't know if they are doing as many items as they did last year but worth noting that on most items they haven't added the legend "the musical".
Fine when at the theatre and everyone knows the context but way too open to misinterpretation outside that arena. luckily realised before going out in mid summer with my t-shirt from last year that without that wording it was just a t-shirt stating "anything goes" without any other justification was not the thing to wear to family gathering and grateful I realized before wearing it on a evening out.
It will remain an in house only t-shirt for now and I will be forever grateful for "the musical" wording on other merchandise to help explain a title to folks not as in tune to the musical world.

But most of the classic musicals don't have 'the musical' tagged on so I wouldn't expect it on merch. Tbh I hate 'the musical' tagged on to everything

Tbh I hate 'the musical' tagged on to everything I like merchandise which references the thing, without it just being the logo of the show/game/movie etc. I want it to stand alone as a t-shirt or hoodie without being a walking advertisement for the product. I’d buy a tee of a kick line with the words “times have changed”, but I’d never buy a t-shirt which was just the show logo. I don’t know, I just think it’s a bit naff.

Currently in the interval of the show right now and hoping someone can help me out while Act II is happening; does anyone know where the stage door is for the Barbican and if it’s publicly accessible? Would like to try to meet Kerry but it’s a maze down here!

Thanks filendile and no worries Paulw! I did manage to find it in the end and got a quick picture with both Kerry and Bonnie. I meant to tell Carly Mercedes Dyer how fantastic she’s been every single time as well but didn’t notice she’d even come out until she was chatting to some friends. I will miss this show a lot, at least we have the proshot though which I’m sure I’ll rewatch to death!
