Is the tour not happening at all then?

I guess I can't see the show reeeally selling outside London. I think a previous tour a few years ago was cancelled due to poor sales. London has a big local theatre-going audience where people will go to see someone like Sutton Foster. Even with a replacement star, I just can't see people outside the M25 caring about this one, even though it's one of my favourite things I've ever seen.

From what is still 'live' on t'internet, the tour would have started in late August in Dublin, then at The Lowry this week and next, followed by Southampton and Edinburgh.

They might do the same thing they did with The King and I, release this in cinemas to generate buzz and then go on tour

I’d rather they just do a cinema release and forget the tour. Let people who couldn’t get to the Barbican see it at its best!

Loved this afternoon, great fun and the dancing was superb. Why oh why do people still chat during the overture though, the music is great!

I got a rush ticket for Thursday matinee on the recommendation of friends and absolutely loved it.

There are good west end shows and there are great west end shows.

This is definitely the latter.

In fact I loved it so much I ended up back there again tonight and am now listening to the last Broadway cast recording.

apparently not. I don’t think any of the leads have which is very impressive.

I was listening to the OBC recording this afternoon whilst doing the ironing and singing along.
I've come to the conclusion that the London cast is better than the Broadway cast (singing wise).I'd love for there to be a London cast recording.

I don't have much to add to the superlatives already shared over the past few weeks - it's a classy, excellent show, pure escapist Broadway fun. All of the principal cast were on, there wasn't a weak link amongst them. Sam Edwards was dreamy, Carly Mercedes Dyer is a little firecracker and Robert Lindsay had the audience eating out of the palm of his hand. Sutton Foster also lived up to expectations, she is a class act (and seems to adore Robert Lindsay).

I was surprised to see quite a few empty seats, I know it was a weekday matinee but I thought this would be nearly sold out most days. I also can't imagine Megan Mullally in the role, it would've been a very different show (although I would've loved to have seen her take on it).

Glad you enjoyed it! You should've moved down to the front of the stalls near me, I had empty seats on three sides of me! 🤣
