Did they adapt the stage version to be identical to the film, or was the film identical to the show? Because I’m watching it and it’s pretty much scene for scene the same. And Chris Cazenove seems to be doing a direct impersonation of Rex Harrison! It’s good though! The film Pretty much replicated the show with only a few changes. Wasn't Cecil Beaton involved with both? I think Alan Lerner wrote about what a learning experience working on the stage show had been. How he was shown that the bright lights meant his original subtle colour ideas wouldn't work. You would therefore have thought he'd revise things for the film? Apparently not...

Also, the ENO website says; "The first major West End revival of Lerner & Loewe’s much-loved musical for 21 years."The National Theatre production closed at Theatre Royal, Drury Lane on 30th August 2003. The Coliseum production opens on 7th May 2022. It still doesn't make 21 years if you take it from the opening date either, it falls a few months short. Either way, struck me as a bit weird as it's in huge writing on the landing page for the show. Also, re: the sets again, with the show actually touring the US simultaneously to the transfer opening at the Coliseum, is it definitely just going to be a straight replica? The sets from the US tour in the pictures and video I've just been looking at actually look rather nice. Not OTT or lavish, but certainly pretty. This definitely has different musical arrangements than the US tour, which has a pit band of 9. The Coliseum transfer will feature the ENO Orchestra. www.broadwayinhollywood.com/assets/doc/My-Fair-Lady-10_7-10_31-Galley-Final-LR-9588591bba.pdf The US Tour doesn´t have a band of 9. But yes, it´s gonna have the ENO orchestra, and I was wrong. I do wonder why the "tour orchestrator" (Josh Clayton) is credited if they´re not going to use his work. I was going by this; eurweb.com/2021/10/18/my-fair-lady-a-fairy-tale-night-at-the-dolby-theater-in-hollywood-thru-oct-31/And this; www.ibdb.com/tour-production/my-fair-lady-522677Specifically the photo in the first link and this part in the second link; "Musical Coordinator: Talitha Fehr and David Lai; Musical Supervisor: Ted Sperling; Conducted by John Bell; Keyboard: Luke Flood; Violin/Concertmaster: Dmitriy Melkumov; Percussion: Mark O'Kain; Music Copying: Joshua Clayton"

What´s credited on IBDB are the touring musicians, which are just a small part of the orchestra since most are local hires. You can clearly see a basoon and an oboe in the photo which are not on IBDB.

Also booked matinee May. Phew, had to grit my teeth over prices. You know what Lynette, since the pandemic I have been spending more on individual tickets than I normally would. I think the whole Covid thing has made me realise how precious life is and enjoy it to the fullest. So I've been saying to myself "bu**er it" and getting the best seats I can afford. Theatre is one of my few pleasures so I'm going to enjoy it whilst I can.

So at least £127.25 for a decent Stalls seat for this. What do they think we are? Complete mugs? They can do one. The greed of some producers seems to know no limit.

( 🤪 ) Prices have actually doubled so I am being selective. This show is a family thing so had to book.

I think £2.25 a tic service charge for telephone bookings is a bit much when you used to have exactly the same service back in the day. Frankly it is taking the proverbial.

Just watching some Gina Beck on YouTube, as I am a huge fan of hers. She would be absolutely amazing. I'd book in a flash.

Why not adjust price and give discount if bought in person? Why when the internet is set up so that nobody has to DO anything at all? And so on and so on. There is no justification for this service charge at all. At All.

My Mum has a big thing for him, I just bought her his album with Boggess as a Christmas gift, which I wouldn't have known about if it weren't for this place. Sometimes TheatreBoard is useful after all

I mentioned Michael Praed a few pages back too, I'm told "pretty good guess". No idea what to make of that, but I could see it happening if he's free.
