Oh, forgot to say, my address was randomly selected for an antibody home testing study run by Imperial College London and Ipsos Mori. They sent me out a home testing fingerprick test with instructions and then asked me to send the results and complete a survey as to how easy it was to use. They stressed that the test is not validated and to ignore the results as they might be wrong - they were interested in how easy it was to follow the instructions and read the results. I guess they are sending out a couple of different designs of test. Did feel a bit reassured that the result said negative even though it might not be accurate. I haven’t had symptoms or anything but the worry that I might have been asymptomatic and could have inadvertently infected anyone I didn’t stay far enough away from was playing on the back of my mind. There was a kid in the park the other day who obviously was too young to understand social distancing ad came right up to me! I also had an antibody test at work as a participant in a study and I was negative but I was gutted. I have been around several people who have been sick and later confirmed as COVID positive and have been into work using the tube at least once a week since this started. Lots of my colleagues have been positive for antibodies even those who have not been coming into the office at all due to health concerns. Although the impact of having antibodies is not yet clear, having them is obviously more beneficial than not. Gutted! |

1,000's of white people on a beach = all good 1,000's of people of colour marching for equality and change in the streets = bad At least they're trying to do something to make the world a better place after all this. We should've been protesting about Cummings 2 weeks ago and now as predicted it's already forgotten. Well who's said that 1,000's of people on beaches is "good" exactly? And no, we shouldn't have been protesting about Cummings, or indeed anything, weeks ago because hundreds or thousands of people gathering and not social distancing for any reason is not good and is irresponsible to encourage. These people, and those supporting it, will not have made the world a better place if in a few weeks time they find they have killed people, or find themselves ill or dead themselves, through their own reckless and dangerous actions. I'm quite confident i'm on the right side of the argument by not supporting thousands of people assembling on the streets, shouting and sweating all over each other during a global pandemic that is still killing hundreds of people a day. |

After Cummings totally irresponsible and reckless anti-role model behaviour,the lockdown basically felt like it was dead in the water....after Cummings nothing felt the same to me....farcical and tragic

Sonia Freedman and others warning this morning that 70% of theatres facing permanent closure unless substantial support package put in place by our God-awful govt ....I will consider this sad situation on my trip around Dudley Zoo next Monday.

My hope is that the only competent person in this Gov - and that doesn't mean I have any regard for his politics - is Gove, and Gove does have a real understanding and appreciation of the Arts. Whether it's Sam Mendes's idea or another initiative, I have fingers crossed he will take the light of the Arts under the wing of the Cabinet Office ...

Some of the media coverage , particularly schools is getting rather annoying. Last week it was dangerous for children to go back to school and the return was being rushed . This week it is a tragedy that children are not in school and they can go to the zoo, shops but not school. Do the media think we have no brain? You cannot have it both ways. In my view as many children as possible should be allowed back to school in a safe way. Most of Europe has managed it in one way or another. The fear the media generated has meant that many parents felt their children could not go back.
Children are the only ones who are going to suffer in this, particularly those from a disadvantaged background.

Anyone going shopping today? If John Lewis, Oxford St was open I would pop in as I'm wanting to buy new drapes.I also have some stuff to exchange at Uniqlo but I can't find a store near that's open. I'm ready to spend but not many of my preferred shops are open. |

With the compulsory wearing of face masks on public transport starting today, on my commute to work this morning, a few people were refused entry onto the bus as they didn’t have a mask / suitable face covering.

Mind when I first read it I saw the person pulling the bottom of the t-shirt up over their head rather than pulling the top of the t-shirt up and the problems that gave trying to board a bus with your t-shirt over your head |
