Well whaddya know, all my Barbican refunds have now shown up as Pending Transactions on my current account, which means they should be credited at close of business today. Just checked and most of mine are showing as pending in my bank account too. Adding up the refunds I think Evita hasn't yet been refunded, makes sense if they are doing them in order of cancellation.

Mine are showing as an individual refund for each ticket, even where I booked multiple tickets for the same show in the same transaction. Very weird but at least it is sorted, and I know they have my correct bank details.
If they'd communicated timescales from the start, or given some idea of progress, and made it possible for people to check the bank details after they'd submitted them, this would have been much less painful! The Barbican happened to be the place I had the most cancelled bookings with - today's refunds were £240, and there's another £150 to go with Evita.

If they'd communicated timescales from the start, or given some idea of progress, and made it possible for people to check the bank details after they'd submitted them, this would have been much less painful! Imagine must be in time order then. I really really hope Evita is re-scheduled. Was probably the event over the Summer I was most looking fwd to. Loved it at the Open Air!

I had an email from Delfont Mackintosh regarding To Kill A Mockingbird informing me that they would supply replacement tickets for the show when they knew the rescheduled dates. There was no option to request a refund instead. Given the uncertain nature of when/ if the production will be rescheduled, I don’t think it’s fair that the option for a refund was not on offer.
I sent an email to The Gielgud Theatre box office requesting a refund and got it issued the same day with a very kind letter from a box office manager there.
I’m not sure about the legal position regarding refunds on productions that don’t go ahead on the date that people have booked for, but three times now when I’ve written to different theatres to ask for a refund, I’ve had them issued without any problems.
At the moment with so many people having financial hardship, having the money back now and possibly rebooking to see shows again in the future makes good sense to me. I might think twice about asking for a refund from a small independent theatre, but not from a subsidised theatre or a giant corporation like DM or ATG.

You should be able to phone up and get a refund. I'm pretty sure they'd have to give it to you.

It isn't impossible to get through to BA on the phone - I called them last Sunday morning, got through straight away and the refund was on my card on Monday morning! You just have to pick a time when fewer people are calling. I then spent 40 minutes on hold before I got through to ATG, but it was sorted quickly once I did.

I had the same as my flights cancelled in June. Got through after 20 mins wait and they processed the refund. It actually came through about 3 days later.

For Glee Club at the Kiln, I had the notification email about the cancellation just over a week ago and they processed the refund very quickly as well. One of the better theatres I've dealt with. Might be worth emailing them.

Thank you all for the info re the Kiln Theatre, which I have now seen for myself, having thought to check their website. Not good that I haven't heard from them when I should have done; I also have no confirmation email as I never receive this now when booking online with them. However, I do have the item on my credit card statement and they must have my booking on their system so I'll email them.

I finally got through to ATG, and the very pleasant lady refunded one ticket for me, the other two had been paid for with a combination of cash and theatre tokens , so apparently I now have to wait for a manager to call me to take my card number for the cash refund , and the theatre tokens will be refunded as tokens . I’m still waiting for my call 4 days later .

I had an email reply from the Barbican saying that the date on our accounts was the date they started the refund process, but that the refund money was sent to the banks in batches on the 24th and 27th April, so it should be within 10 days from those dates.

Crazy they have not published this info on their website or twitter feed - they must be spending so much time answering these questions repeatedly! Anyway - the first bunch of Barbican refunds arrrived in my bank account this morning, everything except Evita. Also got the refund for my BA flight as sorted out on twitter at the weekend.

Has anyone heard anything from The Other Palace? I realised we were supposed to be seeing Giles Terera's concert on the 11th & not had anything from them. I couldn't see it on their list of cancelled/postponed shows but might have just missed it.

I had tickets for Be More Chill on 15 April, box office contacted me the day before to offer to transfer tickets to an new date. At the time they had just rescheduled the show until later in the year. I chose to take a credit note instead and will rebook once I know if it (or something else) definitely is going ahead.
Their website says they'll contact everyone in order of production date, but maybe your order has just been overlooked?
Hope you get it sorted.

OK so now Sunday in the Park has been cancelled I now have by first go at getting a refund from ATG. Trying to work out the best route from posts above.
I have had the initial postponement email which says
"You do not need to do anything right now. We will be contacting all affected customers shortly with a full credit voucher worth the entire cost of your original booking, including all fees."
Should I contact them now to say I want a refund rather than credit, or will there be a second email giving me credit details after which I can change to a refund? Also what's the best route - phone, twitter, facebook, carrier pigeon ... ?
Ta! Edited to add - just saw advice in the Sunday in the Park thread so this can be ignored!

Very impressive response from the Kiln Theatre, from whom I hadn't heard re a cancelled booking. They replied within 24 hours of my email; arranged a refund without quibble AND tried to resolve the IT issue which had caused me to cease receiving their emails. Really going above and beyond and at a time when they must be so busy and short-staffed.

Some people may think that board members are being a bit harsh with theatre companies, especially ATG. However we are not your average theatre audience. We are sort of at the extreme end of how many times a year people go to the theatre. I am guessing that most people have maybe 1 or two shows booked and probably happy to accept a credit note. Whereas board members can have dozens of shows booked and paid for including myself. As there is no certainty when things will be back to normal it's just not realistic to have hundreds of pounds in credit. Who knows if there will be anything to see or that we want to see in the next year. I know that as soon as things get back to "normal" I will be back booking via ATG and other theatre companies as theatre really is my one big passion in life, but until then I would like the money. Realistically Who knows what is around the corner with our health and life. You can't really leave someone a load of theatre credits in your will can you. (I do say that slightly in jest).

When I got an email from ATG yesterday about the new period of cancelled shows, it stated very clearly when I will be contacted (because they obviously work chronologically) and also mentioned the possibility of a refund. So it seems they are getting better...

I called ATG this morning at 9am and got through quickly. Spoke to a lovely geordie girl who cancelled 2 bookings for me with no argument and said 3-5 days for refund. Fingers crossed that will happen as I've had quite a few false promises from other companies re refunds that I'm still chasing. But if it does than I've been lucky with the service from them.

I got an email today from London Coliseum with a credit note for Hairspray. I wasn't even contacted to ask whether I wanted a refund or credit, which is rather annoying - I thought all theatres wanted us to wait to be contacted.
