A sort of a sandwich: toasted muffin, mango chutney, fried egg, red leicester, sliced gherkins + a cucumber salad. Kiwi for dessert.

I seem to be the biggest fan of this thread... (No surprise there, I love food and eating...)
I got some good news this morning, so thought I'd spoil myself a bit: today's lunch was a baby spinach, celery, cucumber and Feta cheese salad with roasted peanuts and blueberries. I might have a peanut mochi for dessert.

I seem to be the biggest fan of this thread... (No surprise there, I love food and eating...) I love reading this thread as well. Which, as the 'Travelling to Theatre' thread was also one of my faves, is making me think I don't actually have any interest in theatre after all! I do have to google occasionally what some folks have had though, most recently arugula, yuzu tea and instant ramen so I'm broadening my knowledge as well!

I need one of those template posts saying "I refer the honourable members to the reply I gave earlier" since today, for the umpteenth in a row, it was the usual cheese roll and apple. I've been on a very long walk (in remote areas so no social distancing issues except once back in my small town, heading home), so apart from a small banana that's all I've had all day so far, as I never eat breakfast before walking. Looking forward to refuelling at dinner!

I love reading this thread as well. Which, as the 'Travelling to Theatre' thread was also one of my faves, is making me think I don't actually have any interest in theatre after all! I am a fan of the off-topic threads too: sometimes they are just as interesting as the on-topic (theatre) ones. And since there really aren't any theatre ones at the moment, things like what we eat and what makes us happy is fine, and fun, too. :) Today it's an early lunch (because I went to the kitchen to get water and lost so much time talking to a flatmate, that I realised I may as well call it a lunch break and eat now; I am always hungry, so that helps!): couscous topped with tofu marinated in sesame oil, cumin and chilli and fried with some (pre-cooked last night) broccoli, and finished with some peanuts on top for crunch. To be followed by a coffee and some Green and Black's Salted Caramel chocolate.

Ham/emmental/tomato sandwich, ready salted crisps, an apple, and a banana. How spooky is that. I am working from home today so I had a toasted ham and emmental sandwich was well but with cucumber rather than tomato, also crisps but a plum instead of the apple. Footnote when I type in emmental it auto corrects to a mental!! Took me 4 attempts before accepting the right word.

Pepperoni pizza. I've been craving one for weeks now, and thought today was a good day to treat myself!
I went on a long walk afterwards to try and burn at least some of the calories (I walked from N1 to SW1 and back - I gave myself a mission to walk to the Royal Court, and I did - it only took me 7km and an hour and 20 minutes to get there) but I don't think the mission was a major success. But it was so good (actually, both the pizza and the walk)! :)

No lunch today as it is Saturday. Poached eggs, turkey and avocado on sourdough toast for brunch, with a fruit smoothie and a couple of coffees, all sitting outside in the sun.

BoOverall, I love your blog! :) Today's lunch was a version of Michelle Obama's cauliflower mac'n'cheese recipe (I made a big batch hoping it would last me two days, but it might also be three), sautéed cauliflower leaves with smoked paprika and a cucumber salad with dill. I'm about to make coffee and nibble on some dark chocolate.

Steak and red onion burger with chips. Rhubarb crumble and custard afterwards.
I'm eating a lot of chips at the moment. For some reason potatoes never seem to last long in my house before they sprout tentacles; perhaps they're desperate to escape. I used to buy small numbers of potatoes every three or four days but now I'm shopping on a weekly basis I've found large bags of potatoes start to get unappetising when I get near the end, so I'm relying on frozen chips and hash browns instead.

My way round that is to batch cook mashed potato - it'll last about a week in the fridge in an airtight container and can even be frozen as well!
