DMT have offered me an option of a full refund or a credit note for my Mary Poppins tickets in May. Does anyone know what the restrictions and risks are on a credit note - how long do I have to use it? The website has no information on these - are they treated like gift vouchers?
I just can't figure out what to do - the only sweetener offered to take the credit is a year's membership for the DMT+ (worth £35 according to the website). Is it worth it, or is the situation too fluid even to hold onto a credit note with an expiry date? I know that the fair thing for the theatres is to allow them to keep my money, but I have concerns that this is my only opportunity to make my choice. If I decide to take the credit note, I'm fairly sure that's irreversible. Has anyone had any experience of changing their minds, and getting anywhere to get a credit note turned into a full refund?

I was offered the same for my booking for Rosmersholm and asked them on twitter ...
So if the credit you are offered is for another performance of Mary Poppins, presume the same would apply. I took the credit as for the single ticket I had, the free DMT+ membership for 12 months from when they reopen is a good deal.
The absolute worst case scenario, I guess, is that DMT goes bust and your credit note becomes worthless. Which is unlikely as they are a big concern. But in that case, assuming you paid by credit card, you ought to be able to claim the cost back from your card issuer, I think.

Cursed Child off-sale until September 9th
Think its only a matter of time before more follow.

Suspect it won't be long till My dad has to somehow get a refund for a late september booking of Hello Dolly booked in person at the Box Office. |

Gosh that would be a shame. Though in the absence of an official statement; hopefully it's just to manage the uncertainty by not selling tickets that they MIGHT end up having to refund or exchange. I think we can all agree that in general the refund and exchange process has been very complex! Then if govt do announce in for example June that theatres could open in July, tickets will go back on sale.... |

I note Snooker at the Crucible starting on the 31st July is non committal regarding audiences- so obviously no one is sure. |

Sister Act London pushed back by a year. Tickets remain valid for new dates (not sure if we use the same tickets or get new ones)
Due to current government guidelines resulting in a delay to the production, the producers of Sister Act announced today that performances in London have now been rescheduled.
Sister Act was due to open at the Eventim Apollo from 21 July 2020 to 30 August 2020.
The London run at the Eventim Apollo is now rescheduled to open 20 July 2021, where it will play until 29 August 2021.
Current ticketholders for the London run have been moved into the same seats for equivalent performances by day of week for the 2021 run. Patrons will be able to use their current ticket for performances next year. Performance times remain unchanged.
As a ticket holder, you do not need to do anything. The new date for your booking is detailed below.
In London, the show will star the previously announced Whoopi Goldberg as ‘Deloris Van Cartier’ and Jennifer Saunders as ‘Mother Superior’. Further casting for the London run will be announced soon.
Whoopi Goldberg, who is also one of the producers of Sister Act, said today, ‘We are thrilled with the overwhelming support from people all over the world who have been buying tickets for Sister Act. We are all disappointed not to be able to do the show this summer, but Jennifer and I can’t wait to see you all next year’.
Producer Jamie Wilson said today, ‘Due to COVID-19, We have made the very difficult decision to reschedule our London run of Sister Act to 2021. By rescheduling the production exactly 12 months later to the same performance dates, meaning ticket holders keeping their same seats, we believe we have made the best decision open to us. I would like to thank the team at the Eventim Apollo, Whoopi, Jennifer and everyone involved with the show who has reworked their schedules to make this move possible. We can’t wait to open the convent next year and share this incredibly celebratory musical with you all’.

The production of The Glee Club at the Kiln Theatre (4 to 27 June) has been cancelled. Just had an email.
This one had already started on a UK tour prior to a run at the Kiln, but I presume all remaining dates are off.

It's wonderful that Sonia Friedman is announcing things like the return of Jerusalem next year and Dreamgirls tour casting but it would be more helpful at this stage to know if The Doctor is going to go the same way as The Watsons and be cancelled or postponed, hopefully the latter. It's certainly unlikely at this stage to be running for seven weeks in June/July despite the fact it's still on sale.

Just had an email from the Festival Theatre telling me that Swan Lake (postponed visit was supposed to be April 9th) has been rescheduled to mid-September and I can rebook now.
Overly optimistic from the theatre and company.

Had an email from ATG about Once being cancelled at the Alexandra Theatre in Birmingham. Was due to be on during the first week of June.

I just got my refund this morning for 4000 Miles at the Old Vic. I had to chase it as I never received any information about rescheduling or refund applications.
My tickets were for last night’s performance so although I understand the enormous amount all the box offices are having to deal with at the moment, I was surprised that no information was forthcoming prior to the date I had booked. I would imagine given the cast in the show, they must have known this would have been a tricky one to reschedule. I hope it does go ahead in the future though.

I would imagine given the cast in the show, they must have known this would have been a tricky one to reschedule. I hope it does go ahead in the future though. Surprised you didn't hear anything - I got a mail from them on 14th March saying it was postponed and my booking would be honoured for a later date. Did you book direct? |

Just got an email about Sammy at the Lyric being postponed & tickets would be moved to the new dates. Happy to do this as long as Giles Terera is still involved, but glad to know what's going on with it now.

Email from the Lyric Hammersmith confirming the postponement of the Sammy Davies Jr musical. They expect to have confirmation of the new dates before the summer and will start contacting customers from then.

Just got the same e mail. No offer of refunds but I'm happy to postpone as the tickets were not at all expensive.
Doesn't bode well for other shows I have booked later in the year as this wasnt until August.

SOLT will be making a new cross-west-end announcement on Tuesday at noon about further cancellations on behalf of all shows and producers. Currently the official guidance is that the West End is closed until 31 May although several shows are off sale until September, so I suspect that will be the new standardised closure date. To be frank, as painful as it is, there's little point in setting a return date before September. An earlier return just isn't likely to happen (and no one wants it to happen more than me, so I'm not being defeatist). If it is a September announcement, it would then be good to get a bit of clarity about whether some shows which are due to take place over the summer plan to postpone rather than cancel. |

I received a nice email earlier from Evan Hansen (surprised he can type with his arm in plaster) informing me my May performance is rescheduled for November. Same day of the week and same seats

Sooner rather than later it will get to the point where it would be physically impossible for some shows to start back any earlier - many will now be due their annual cast change so may have auditions/casting to do, new rehearsals, re-rehearsing existing casts, getting performers in physical shows back up to their optimal fitness levels etc. At least September feels like something vaguely realistic to aim for! |
