Steven Moffat written a new play. Says it’s a fun comedy, not about #metoo. Mark Gatiss to direct, Reece Shersmith to star.
sounds like it could be a hoot!

Hopefully it’s been substantially re-written since last year.

Hopefully it’s been substantially re-written since last year. Has it already been staged then? I understood this was its world premiere?

No idea how I'm going to get there but I'm booking for this ASAP! Love almost everything Moffat's written (except Dracula) so am very intrigued as to what his first play will be like.

It hasn't been staged before no, I read the opening scenes last year, and I know several people who have read the entire script.

This is showing as limited availability or sold out for most dates despite not going on general sale until Sunday. Does anyone know if this will be based on the 'friends' allocation or is it total allocation?

Over 3,000 friends in the queue last Saturday AM and there may be others who weren't trying then.

Surely this has to transfer to West End if it's that popular?

Surely this has to transfer to West End if it's that popular? It’s just the usual Doctor Who, Sherlock and League of Gentlemen sheep going for the tickets at the moment. Wether this can attract a proper theatre audience is still up for debate.

Would this be the same 'proper theatre audience' that will cough up to watch the latest dross from David Hare despite the fact he hasn't written a great play in years? If that's the case then I'm proud to be a follower of Who, The Leage and Sherlock thank you very much.

I had never heard of any of the above three men until people mentioned them (elsewhere) on this board; I think I may since have seen one of them in a play, but if so, I can't recall which actor and play. I have no idea what any of them look like or what other work they do and my interest in any play is based on the plot, writer and venue. Hence my booking for The Unfriend, as it sounded interesting. I'm always concerned by any suggestion that followers or fans of a particular actor will flock to see something in case it skews the audience and threatens to overshadow the production, but of course people are free to see - or not to see - anything they please and ardent supporters might think people like me shouldn't be booking because we won't fully appreciate those we are seeing.

Extremely fortunate to pick one of the last tickets for a Saturday Matinee in August, also picked up a ticket for the Real Thing for a Saturday Matinee in May.

Got in quickly, but alas, no aisle seats left for the claustrophobic person! Fingers crossed for a transfer I guess - and the cast to go with it...

Just grabbed on now, a few more tickets have gone on sale for all dates by the looks of it if people are still trying to get one.

Just grabbed on now, a few more tickets have gone on sale for all dates by the looks of it if people are still trying to get one. I am a bit miffed as the only ticket I could get was for a date which isn't all that convenient for me. Now there are others available, I am wondering whether to try to swop.

I am beyond disappointed that this has sold out. I really hope it gets another 'life' on some other stage, too.

What's really annoying with all the Minerva plays is that they still have tix available even until the day as they're ring-fenced for young people but the box office absolutely will not release them to the general audience, even though this would result in extra income they'd otherwise lose. There must be some legal restriction or I can't see why they'd be so obstinate.
