THEatre related I would recommend Jim and Tomics musical theatre happy hour, very interesting and enjoyable. Also would recommended the national theatre podcast which is different to there recorded talks as they have a theme and will do a podcast talking to different actors and creatives about it.
Also enjoy Like Mined Friends with Tom Allen and Suzi Rufell.

The official Disney on broadway podcast is also a good one, behind the scenes on some of their shows and also a couple about the new Amsterdam

A lot of podcasts can be very rambly and a bit smug, but some good nice tight podcasts that I can recommend (sadly not all theatre) are The New Yorker Radio Hour, The Hollywood Reporter’s Awards Chatter (which isn’t really about awards that much at all... it’s the interviewer doing full life story career interviews with top Oscars/Emmys/Tony’s contenders — you name them, they have an episode), and, if you like indie film, IndieWire’s Screen Talk.

The Folger Shakespeare Library podcast is sometimes interesting, albeit in a sort of worthy humourless American academic way, recently they interviewed Derek Jacobi about his Shakespeare work.
Away from theatre I doubt many here would appreciate "The Two Mikes - On The Record" which in its early episodes features entirely reprehensible anecdotes from two tabloid gutter journalists from the golden age of Fleet Street in the 1970s and 80s.

Just started listening to Classic FM’s Case Notes, a true crime podcast relating to classical music. Some amazing stories being told!

Every Musical Ever is my new favourite - they spend an hour with a musical theatre performer (its an Aussie podcast) disecting musicals, discussing their film adaptations if appropriate, and generally being hilarious.
Musicaltalk also is just superb

Broadwaysted is a lot of fun, but sometimes the mic levels are SUPER uneven, and the drunker the guests become, the louder they laugh. It's a good one for speakers and not headphones. broadwaysted.libsyn.com/

I also really enjoyed Every Musical Ever, right up until the end of the Legally Blonde episode. For some reason they thought it was a good idea to watch a high school production on it online and completely rip it to shreds, just being unnecessarily nasty about these kids that had worked really hard to put a production together. It was borderline bullying and very unprofessional. I don’t really feel like listening to it anymore after that.

Don’t really listen to theatre podcasts, but I love audio dramas - ‘We’re Alive’ being the best (alongside that Ambridge lot).

I don’t listen to any musical theatre podcasts but whilst running I listen to a couple others.
My Dad Wrote a Porno (already recommended on this thread). Filthy, hilarious and downright naughty. I’ve had to stop running in the middle of the street because I’m laughing so much.
My Favourite Murder - it’s a true crime podcast where two female comedians talk through murders they find interesting. It is surprisingly funny and so interesting. I listen to it constantly

If you're into semi-comedy, semi-documentary podcasts, I highly recommend Heavyweight, which is from the Gimlet network. The host is a self-deprecating curious fellow who meets people who want to confront something from their past. It can be intense, but it's always entertaining and often funny.

I tried to like My Favourite Murder but the sound quality made it impossible to listen to on my semi-noisy journey to work and there just wasn't enough fact-checking. I've recently enjoyed Limetown, does anyone know of anything similar? Creepy subject matter, documentary style, doesn't matter if it's fact or fiction?

"Let's talk about myths baby" The Greek myths re-told by a snarky Canadian feminista Shouldn't work but it does

Gave the first episode of My Favourite Murder a listen today. The pair of hosts are obviously very knowledgeable and committed to their interest in the subject, but gosh their chat is scatty. I found it quite hard to listen to with all its American-isms; “LIKE” “Oh Emm Gee” etc. It took quite a while to get going, they spent a lot of time establishing their intention with the podcast etc but once they got into content proper it was interesting. I’ll give Ep2 a listen but not sure how far I’ll get with it.

For The Many - Iain Dale and Jacqui Smith on this weeks politics Sloppy Seconds - A bear rapper and a drag queen. NSFW Older and Wider - comedian Jenny Eclair and producer of Grumpy Old Women Judith Holder wittering on about stuff. Race Chaser - Alaska and Willam from RPDR. Rule Brittania - LBC’s Tom Swarbrick digging deep into a topic.

I've found this season of the Royal Court Playwright podcast excellent with brilliant guests. I particularly enjoyed Christopher Hampton!

New recommendation.
Ur Welcome America
Two British fellas who live in LA translate British pop culture for the Americans and American pop culture for the British. It’s all very daft (latest episode is a Girls Aloud special... that’s the level) but they’re very engaging and funny.

I’m usually a radio fan but I’m really cutting down on it because if the onslaught of news so more than ever looking for podcast recommendations. Great thing about podcasts is that there’s often a huge back catalogue so you can fill your boots without even hearing the C word.

I can highly recommend Musicalsplaining, which looks at musicals from the perspective of someone who loves musical theatre and someone who does not love musical theatre. It’s only four episodes in so it’s also very easy to catch up on.

If you’re an Inside No. 9 fan, they have a great Inside Inside No 9 podcast where Steve Pemberton and Reece Shearsmith go into the making of the episodes. Very funny and informative, even tell you where the hare is...! Also You’re Dead to Me - Greg Jenner takes either a person or period of history and along with guests, tries to get to separate truth from what we all think we know. Again, can be very funny and informative. I’m only just getting into podcasts to alleviate the boredom of my 30-40 mins on the exercise bike that I started to get back into after not going out for walks when the weather was atrocious, so I’d also be interested in suggestions.

For any of you interested; please share and listen to my friend’s podcast! This episode focuses on Joe Aaron Reid (Dreamgirls / In The Heights / If / Then and Smash) smarturl.it/aroundthesoundReally cool podcast and they cover a range of genres in the music industry. They also have an episode with Steve Balsamo too. Love the fact they’re not snobby towards MT.
