I agree I think she is very average talent. Her voice is fine although as she doesn't look after it (something she has admitted/shown numerous times over the years on social media) her voice is getting worse. She can't act (has about 2 or 3 facial expressions) and can't dance. Yet she is getting leads but refuses to believe it's because of her famous brother and social media following (even though her engagement these days is poor). I don't believe for one second in an audition she is the best for the role if compared talent alone against others (helped shown by the fact she tends to repeat roles). Up until recently she never showed any interest in theatre (never went, never spoke about theatre outside her roles) and even during pandemic admitted to turning down work/not being interest (forget her phrasing) while whole industry on its knees. Plus posting eye roll emoji when people mentioned people were dieing during pandemic.
Same as her writing career, only due to her following and her books are lazy at best (heavily influenced by other writers) and poorly written. Something she also shows on social media as she doesn't express herself well in writing.
Plus as others have said how problematic she is on social media. Some of the stuff she comes out with his funny, cringe, hypocritical, preachy or just arrogant.
I dont follow her anymore but It's hard to ignore her when she keeps being cast in things I want to see but it's now got to the stage whatever it is I'll avoid.

I saw the original production.
I love the show, it’s big numbers, one after the other.
I don’t remember the book.
My only memory of a criticism is when the transformation of the women occurs it’s really a sexual awakening and here they are in pastel big meringues. But the technology for flying has improved since then.
I have to say the concert doesn’t appeal. I’d love some big matured voices to knock those songs out of the park.

I'm sorry but some of this against Carrie is nonsense, she's worked in theatre for over 2 decades, and I believe she was onstage before her brother was famous! Yes her social media presence needs some editing but to say she hasn't shown in interest in theatre or hasn't worked hard to get where she has is just ridiculous!

Eastwick is one of my favourite shows and was so excited when this was announced and booked front row seats as soon as they went on sale. But I have to admit, this isn't looking to be the glitzy, special one off evening I was picturing it to be........

Without wanting to sound cruel Partridge barely convinces as himself, so getting me to believe he’s a horny fifty something hetero demon will be a stretch. Giles Terrara is an absolute superstar; a Fantastic triple threat with talent for days, likewise Natasha Barnes and Danielle Steers. I’d be disappointed that the people I’d booked for weren’t there. I’d be even more devastated by his replacement, especially if I’d shelled out big bucks.

Hmm, not overly enamoured with the replacement of Giles Terera - having seen John Partridge in a couple of things previously danb s assessment is pretty spot on… Thankfully it’s a concert not a full production, so hoping that allows a bit more leeway - still, an unfortunate last minute replacement as I was looking forward to see what Giles would do the part (albeit in a limited setting). I’m more curious to know which (of the many) versions they are performing and how big the band is…. |
