Hope they keep Marti Pellow away from it this time. And they can pop Loose Ends back in whilst they’re at it!

The show is just not as sharp as it could / should be.

The show is just not as sharp as it could / should be. Well they've apparently worked and updated it for this new production. Hopefully we'll be getting that x

It’s 20 years next year since the West End premiere - would be good to have it back again. I agree ‘Loose Ends’ needs to go back in!

This is the poster of the Swedish production which had its premiere in Stockholm about 2 weeks ago with Peter Jöback as Daryl van Horne.
In an interview a couple of months ago, Peter Jöback, said that he had (or had been) approached by Cameron Mackintosh to head the Swedish production in preparation of a new West End production.

Am I the only one who found this show terribly dull and rather sexist in that three women with seemingly dull unfulfilled lives were falling over themselves to fawn over some supposedly wonderful man? I may have to dig out the cast recording and see if I might see the show with different eyes now, but I didn't like it much back then and wasn't surprised it didn't do well and disappeared afterwards.

Three characters fall for a person and become giddy and weak at the knees. When they later on discover he is a cock they retaliate. The three remain remain strong friends. To me it isn't sexisit, its real.

I feel old - Joback was the youth when I saw this nearly 20 years ago in that there London's glittering West End As for the show itself, well its a lot better than the book which I found near unreadable.

Never seen this (or heard it!). Agree with the posters that the story and premise sounds a but naff. And just back then didn't grab my interest.
Was it a film with Cher or am I imagining that?
Anyway, quite enjoy re-discovering musicals from that era as I missed loads of them whilst being obsessed with all the (then available) ALW stuff. So will check out the cast recording.
Out of interest, if anyone saw the original, what was the staging like? Was it mega-musical-esque or simpler?

I like the music, never saw it in the West End though. Always put this in the category of mega-musical with big set and spectacular flying as this was a Cameron Mackintosh show, but maybe I only imagined it that way... could also quite easily be staged simpler.

It was a big production but not epic.
The flying was great. I was less impressed with the collasping church

You should definitely check it out. Highly recommended!

I would definitely download the cast recording on a music platform, you will have a nice surprise. For me this musical is reminiscent of Chess, by what I mean is that the score sores way above the book and production/s, which I only saw the Watermill version.

Same source that claimed Jesus Christ Superstar was transferring when Matt Cardle pulled out of Falsettos. Can’t see any announcement on this anywhere.

I absolutely love the score of this and it has some amazing tunes! I saw the original cast in London and really enjoyed it. I'd welcome a tour if the cast was good (ie not including the likes of Marti Pellow).

Same source that claimed Jesus Christ Superstar was transferring when Matt Cardle pulled out of Falsettos. Can’t see any announcement on this anywhere. I actually stated JCS might of been extending, after some industry folk told me it was a possibility, that coincided with Matt Cardle leaving. I labelled it as rumour. If you actually read my post, all I'm stating is there is a Witches of Eastwick announcement teased for today by the choreographer Andrew Wright. So we are still waiting to see what that is, hoping this new updated Swedish production, that Cameron Mackintosh has been involved with, makes it's way over here.
