So Danielle is playing the role Cher played in the film? Omg, yes she is. Great spot. Maybe she’ll sing it as Cher 😲

The original production was hugely troubled with the cast famously not getting on - I think everyone disliked Ian McShane and then there was some infighting within the three leads... so with Maria directing it's not surprising that she's not bought back anyone for a greatest hits tour.
Carrie will sell tickets (which it needs) and Sukie is the least interesting part. Laura is a great shout for Jane actually - she is hugely funny (if you saw the workshop of Soapdish at the Turbine in 2020 you'll know she's a HOOT) and Danielle's got a voice like no one's business so will play a great Alex.
Personally I'm looking forward to it - 2/3 Witches being excellent and the other being just fine is good enough for me in a concert personally...

As much as I dislike CHF (I think they are problematic / overrated) it does make sense with her as Sukie as she's quite a 'bookish' character. I wonder how she will cope with Words, Words, Words...it's not an easy song in terms of the fact it's very pitter patter. The other witches I'm incredibly excited for. It's a shame for Felicia not to be played by Rosemary Ashe if that's the case as she was nominated for an Olivier; but intrigued who will be cast.

Had to laugh at CHF being the bookish one. No one is wanting to stretch her on the acting front 🤣 (can't blame them tbf)

To follow my previous post...I'm so damn excited to hear an orchestra play the score. Gorgeous.

Acting will be required not just singing be interesting to see what she does with that 🤔 Is Sukie funny in this? LPP will be great a brilliant triple threat and very funny.

Danielle Steers? Worth the ticket price alone. Very much looking forward to this.

I think I’m one of the few on this board who has no opinion either way about Carrie Hope Fletcher… I’m just happy to be able to see one of my favourite shows again after too long - though also curious to see which of the many different versions they use (and hope they stick to the original Bill Brohn orchestrations where possible). And if the rumours about another new song are true, even better! Can’t wait

After her performance in Anyone Can Whistle, I’d love to see Alex Young as Felicia !
I also wouldn’t mind seeing Maria have a bash at it !

Do you think they’ll fly? Unlikely over the audience, but I'll be disappointed if they don't across the stage during I Wish I May!

Do we think there’s a possibility of this transferring for a full production sort of like Bonnie and Clyde did? Maybe the Noel Coward now that DEH is closing?

Funnily enough; I did think her character in ACW had similar traits to Felicia... I think ageing Felicia down would work with the witches and would add a different dynamic. Something to consider for a West End revival if that happens post this concert try out.... @reeceyroo good shout. (LET'S MANIFEST)

Claire Machin has just teased me on Twitter. Could she be Felicia? Mary Poppins does not have a Monday evening performance until 27th June so she would be available.

I bought tickets on the bases of Giles being cast. Totally non plussed about the rest, in fact Hope-Fletchers casting has made me return my tickets for a refund

I wont see Cinderella due to her casting. She is very popular with the young girls, but they aren't the ones paying for the seats usually

Wow, I don’t think I feel so strongly and unpleasantly towards anyone that would stop me from giving their work a chance. After all, it is me that would be missing out, not them.

Wow, I don’t think I feel so strongly and unpleasantly towards anyone that would stop me from giving their work a chance. After all, it is me that would be missing out, not them. Me neither, I can’t think of any show that would be so totally ruined by one person that I wouldn’t get anything out of it at all. Especially Witches where there are two other great actresses with just as much stage time, plus another lead in Darryl, and a few (hopefully!) strong ‘featured’ roles who get their own significant moments. Fair enough if the whole thing doesn’t interest you, but to return tickets on the basis of one casting decision in a concert setting seems a very dramatic reaction…

I guess I'm coming in late to this conversation but what is it about CHF that is such a big turnoff for people?

I guess I'm coming in late to this conversation but what is it about CHF that is such a big turnoff for people? She’s very self righteous on Twitter is one reason. I think she’s a great talent. I think people are more peeved with her off stage behavior

I guess I'm coming in late to this conversation but what is it about CHF that is such a big turnoff for people? Onstage, apart from loving her Eponine, I've found her average at best. And because she does so many major roles I've ended up having seen her a lot. And I am consistently shrugging. This itself wouldn't be an issue to most people (she is a jobbing actress who is perfectly competent), if it weren't for her constant social media dramas and cynical self promotion. People aren't jealous of her success, they're leery of her attitude and constant dramas (most of which the public will never know about).
