The Queens theatre was essentially the mirror image of the Gielgud theatre from the outside, and I think Cameron Mackintosh originally wanted his grand Stephen Sondheim theatre plans to be on top of or part of the redesigned Queens when that facade was to be reintroduced. It would have been quite nice I think, it's a shame the usual bureaucracy stood in the way of a good idea.

I have a fantastic idea for running a theatre which would, I am pretty sure, be financially successful and have utility as well. But I occasionally toy with the idea of going beyond fantasy to give it a shot, so I'd better keep mum about it.

Not a West End theatre but if anyone fances something a bit more rural & has £11 million going spare... Pocket money for Cam Mac or Lloyd-Webber. Some global conglomerate will snap it up and turn the theatre into a spa or culture-less leisure hole of something or other.
