They will go on sale once Bridges is finished up - would love to see a Revival Of Hedwig and the Angry inch or Ragtime though
(That’s without any info just wishes!)

I'd say the Menier Autumn production will announce first before the Christmas musical.

I'd say the Menier Autumn production will announce first before the Christmas musical. It’s already announced - The Watson’s - a play by Laura Wade

I'd say the Menier Autumn production will announce first before the Christmas musical. The Autumn production (The Watsons) was announced a few weeks ago and is already on sale.

Rumour is War and Peace the musical. Directed again by Trevor Nunn. It's a 2 day show and you bring your own sleeping bag.

Wouldn’t Christmas be perfect for A Little Night Music? I can imagine snow machines and fur coats

Wouldn’t Christmas be perfect for A Little Night Music? I can imagine snow machines and fur coats But please not the dull Nunn one they did previously. The leider sings should offer sharp and biting commentary, not be moonlighting for Pickfords

I’d love another Jason Robert Brown - maybe HONEYMOON IN VEGAS?

A Little Night Music is based on Smiles of a Summer Night, isn't it? I'm sure the text references the lightness of the season eg "the sun sinks low.."

They’ve already confirmed a stripped back Gigi with Kate Garraway for 2020 and it’s dark for 2021 because they want to change the toilet roll holders & do the skirtings.

danb are we really getting Gigi? Hope so as it's a beautiful score despite one dodgy sounding song!

I'm sure I read that they make a loss on the musicals and rely on them transferring to recoup their costs.
Since I doubt Bridges will transfer (for many reasons), they'll have to go for something mainstream and popular for the Christmas musical.

The very idea that Sir Thomas would perform anywhere as small as the Menier. He's got a world record for the most performances at the 2,286 capacity London Palladium, don't you know!

Not every Christmas musical transfers. Just looking at their timeline I can see that 6 never transferred or toured. But I think the choice will be a commercial musical that can hopefully transfer and so recoup some of the cost. Also remember that there are a lot of musicals out there for which the rights are currently not available or already earmarked for other theatres/productions so many shows that we think would be good choices are just not available. Would it be time for a La Cage revival?
I'd love someone to do The Day that we sang. The Victoria Wood musical that's never done London.

The musicals do make a loss but they subsidy that through the restaurant and the revenue they make from selling programs and selling ice cream and drinks, the plays are produced at a lower cost so they can at least break even plus any transfer they produce and general manage themselves so the fees go back to the Menier.

Romantics Anonymous would be an adorable Christmas musical at the Menier (I mean c'mon, Chocolate Factory!), though I wouldn't enjoy the ticket prices!
