Toy Story 4

I'd intended to see it today but got delayed and I wouldn't have made it in time. I'll try again next weekend and hope that the inevitable spoilers won't be too much of an issue. (They don't usually bother me much.)

I’m really gutted I couldn’t see this on opening day as I’m at WEL. Back up North tonight so I’ll get to see it after work tomorrow night. Thankfully I haven’t seen any spoilers yet.

It’s good, but it’s not brilliant because it doesn’t take off - like I feel TS3 did - until over halfway through.
When it does take off though, it’s just brilliant cinema, and I absolutely had grit in my eyes for the last 10 minutes.

Probably my second favourite after TS3 - which is one of my favourite animated films - but I want them to stop. I don’t want another one. That’s a great way to end it all.

Loved it! The Toy Story franchise can do no wrong what so ever in my eyes! The toys are amazingly funny, each and every one- it's hard not to love them all!

Cried twice- that first 'you got a friend' montage with Andy was all a bit too much! I grew up on these films, and sitting there at that moments, looking around to my younger brother. A flood of emotions hit me all at once. So much has happened, good and bad, in our lives, and these 3 (now 4) little films were a rock throughout it all. of course then end had me going like anything! Don't know whats up lately but god I'm emotional watching most things! Made the wrong idea of watch the last 5 mins of '24 hours in A&E' last week, cried like a baby when the old dear died. And I mean really cried, extremely emosh atm!!! hahaha.

Although I can't decide whether I loved the ending, it did feel right sadly. Don't know where the story would go, but I wouldn't say no to a Toy Story 5. The pictures was packed with young kids, >8, I was looking at some couples thinking 'god, I bet they hadn't even met when the first, or second film came out!', that younger generation would love it.

One thing i was annoyed with was the lack of Mrs Potato Head. One of the best characters in the cast. A true icon; who had one, I repeat *one*, line in this film! Truly appalled on Disney's behalf!

Toy Story 3 was strong, but purely for emotional reasons, Toy Story 2 is my favourite!

Saw this yesterday and thought it was brilliant. The animation these days is just unreal. Highly recommended.

I really liked it but I think this should be the last Toy Story 4 film since it wraps everything up nicely. Pixar has no sequels on the horizon so it's all originals for at least the next few years.

The animation is incredible, you compare Toy Story 4 to the first Toy Story and you can see how far CGI has come.

TS3 isn’t sad really, just a little 'emotional'

Having finally got round to seeing this tonight, what a great film this and I’ll happily admit I’m a massive TS fan who has got an original Buzz Lightyear toy. I thought it managed to get the balance right between comedy and emotional drama in the 100 minutes. I’ll admit I shed a tear or two at the end. I agree with others, it did take a while to get going, but I think that actually helped the journey that the characters took in the film as it seemed more natural than rushing it.

Watching TS1-4 you can see how the computer animation has come on leaps and bounds over the years. The carnival animation for me was just so good. I thought the music was well used, and the credits song was a particular favourite.

It’s a shame more use of some of the characters like Mr and Mrs Potato Head and the Green Aliens which are particular favourites of mine.

Despite the decision of Pixar not to include an animation pre-film, the post credits sequences more than made up for it and having decided to stay until the credits finally finished, there was a nice little payoff with the PIXAR logo.

Overall, this was an excellent way to end the films if this is the case and the ending seemed a nice way to end this journey that the films have taken. Thank you to the PIXAR team and all the actors who have voiced characters. It’s been a fantastic film series and one that I will enjoy watching in future years.

I just got from seeing this. Brilliant!

I actually watched Toy Story 3 on the flight back fro Australia and did miss Bo Peep. But she pops up in this has quite a big role and having seen it, I now know why she wasn't in the third..

No toy plastic soldiers on this one or the green martians. But the Barrel of Monkeys do make a brief cameo.

It's just remarkable how you start to feel for these CGI characters and their plight. You're actually willing them to succeed

I LOVED Forky and his little sequence at the end. I actually burst out laughing at this.

Alas, not enough quirky one-liners from the rest of the gang, but was great see them all there up on the big screen again. Even Mr Pricklepants.

I particularly liked the 'how do we get the key' part of the storyline

Also thought the stunt guy on the motorcycle was great!

Personally, I think there is scope for a 5th outing.

I'm in the extreme minority I know, but I didn't actually think very much to this fourth instalment. I love the first 3 to bits and thought narratively they ended the third one beautifully, and this new one just felt a bit flat and unnecessary. It took a long time to get going, the story wasn't particularly thrilling and it lost the richness that the ensemble characters bring. Rex, Hamm and Potato Head were barely in it, neither was Buzz really. It was all Woody and Bo Peep. The ventriloquist dummies were creepy AF though, I'll give them that. All in all, not terrible, and as a standalone film anywhere else I would've thought it was fine. As a part of this franchise though, it didn't hit the mark for me.

I saw this last week and agree with the above posts in that it felt a bit flat for me as well. I did enjoy it, but not as much as the other TS films. I also think this will be the last, it would be hard to make another from where it ended.

If you are in no rush to get home, it’s worth sticking around for a few surprises during the credits and do stay right to the very last bit when the Disney logo appears at the end.
