Are we all secretly playing the game 'I have never'; where we drink when we say the opposite?

I have never injected drugs or voted tory Though if you did one, the other may follow. Speaking of intoxicants: I have, but have never had a hangover. I think there are quirks of my metabolism that mean I don't experience certain things, e.g. I don't get that asparagus wee thing, and nor does coffee have the caffeine-buzz effect on me. I can have a strong fresh-grind coffee in the evening and still get off to sleep no problem. And despite occasions (none since my 30s) where I've got so drunk I've practically been swimming in it, where I've no memory of how I got home, or woken up somewhere I don't recognise, I've never had a hangover. When it gradually dawned on me this was the case, I asked people to describe their hangovers and it confirmed I've never experienced the grim state they conjured up. At most I'd feel a little bit fragile or achy, but then quickly be up and looking for a hearty cooked breakfast.

A younger version of myself would have given almost anything to be insusceptible of a hangover, being prone to the fiercest of hangovers off the smallest amount.

That's a much more positive reaction to the one I usually get, which is more along the lines of a frown and a "Jammy bastard!"

I don’t really drink much any more, but back in my uni days (all of 5-8 years ago) when I did used to get quite drunk, I never had a hangover. I’m just tired, which is expected given that I’ll have had less sleep than normal (I’m an early bird, even after a late night)

See I was coming to post that I had never learnt to ride a bike thinking that was unique but it seems there is a few of us, perhaps we need a support group?
Also never seen a full episode of The Simpsons or the UK version of The Office (this is apparently sacrilege)
Never had a sexual dream. That I remember at least and I do have detailled vivid dreams
In theatre terms have never seen Evita/Cats/Phantom/Les Mis on any stage anywhere. The last is deliberate due to loving the book as a young 'un and just being unable to see how. The other three, just not interested enough, yet.

Joining the "never learned to swim/ride a bike/drive despite numerous attempts)" club. Also, I have never attended a church mass, despite spending my entire life - or at least majority of it - in a Catholic country. I'd have no idea what to do with myself... Never watched The Godfather, Game of Thrones, all those Marvel universe films. Never been to the opera - I really wanted to go last year and booked a ticket, but then I got so unwell I ended up in A&E instead of the auditorium. I guess that was a sign...

I've never drunk anything alcoholic (unfortunately my uncle is keen on putting wine in tomato sauce, no idea why it's disgusting, so I have had to eat some). Never drunk coffee (if the smell makes you feel sick why would you drink it?) I've never smoked anything. I've never sworn on my own acord (the only time I've done it is when I've had to read something out loud that requires me to say a word I rather wouldn't, hate doing it, I guess it also depends on what you call a swear word. When I was little me and my sister refused to say the word dam even though it's a physical thing so we called them "sorrys" if we ever saw one, will happily use the word for the large object holding back water now but that's the only time I'll use it). So far in this thread I've thought "Fair enough" but this is one is a new world of "whaaaaaat?!!!!" I loathe cooked cheese. Even the smell of it turns my stomach. A pizza without cheese would be OK, but that would basically be just a few scraps of food scattered on a big bread plate.
And let's be honest here: if someone eats a pizza and then pukes it out on to a pavement it looks unchanged.
I hate all cheese cooked or uncooked, revolting, yuck, however I do really love pizza as long as it's got lots of yummy veg on it and no cheese in sight.

I'm the opposite: I've had hangovers but I've never had the experience of not being able to remember anything. It took me a while to realise that forgetfulness was a thing that came with being drunk, because people would ask me if I remembered what happened the previous night and I'd be thinking "Of course I remember. I was there."

I've only had three hangovers in my life. I've been drunk, and definitely tipsy — but I guess I tend to know when to stop. Or, more likely, just eat too much beforehand. I've also never been to a religious service that wasn't a wedding or a funeral.

That is so sweet, dippy. 🙂 So rather than 617 Squadron, the dambusters, practising on Derwent Dam in Derbyshire, it was the sorrybusters practising on Derwent Sorry! Are you okay with bouncing and bomb?

Are you okay with bouncing and bomb? Yes, it would definitely have been the Derwent Sorry when I was little, I think we picked "sorry" because instead of saying dam we apologised. I don't feel like we were told swearing was awful or anything, we both just didn't want to and that's still the case. I'm fine with bouncing and bomb!

Never seen a episode of Eastenders, and never been to Ireland. Hope to change the latter next year!

Let us sit upon the grass and lace daisies in each other's hair. Actually let's not, I hate sitting on grass. I don't suppose we also share the asparagus and caffeine things as well?

Oh yeah another one - while having seen the odd bit here and there, I've never properly seen ET, all the way through. And I'm a Spielberg fan.

I have never seen Downton Abbey

I had a hangover once. Luckily I've never been a big drinker so although I haven't drunk a lot of alcohol since then, it didn't really call for a major lifestyle change or anything. I absolutely 100% cannot recommend the experience, and I think mine was only actually quite a mild one.

Fascinating thread.
The things I haven't done are things I have never had/have a desire to do, so I'm not going to do them anytime soon.
I have never smoked. I have never taken drugs. I have never bungee jumped or jumped out of a plane (with or without a parachute!) I have never seen Game of Thrones. I have never been married. I have never broken a bone.
