This is intended as a sort of cousin to the Theatre Amnesty and maybe less so the Show I Wish I'd Seen threads, but is more closely related to the radio/TV show Never Seen Star Wars. It's a chance to release into the world your statements of well-known stuff - films, TV shows, plays - you've never seen, books you never read, things you've never done. By which I mean, I suppose, 'big' things - never been in or on the sea, never been to a different country, never eaten Chinese food, whatever. Rather than e.g. I can say I've never seen Henry Kissinger wrapping tagliatelle around a bollard, nor have I ever laid in a bath-tub of marmalade (though I suspect some of you may have seen or done either of those, or variations of them).
I mean stuff more like, real ones of mine, I've never seen Citizen Kane, nor have I ever been to the US.

Not seen the point of having a hood on a sweatshirt and find most views are better if I am not included.

Never seen any of the Godfather films though I have read Mario Puzo's novel several times. I also worked in a bookshop in Bath for years and never read any Jane Austen until after I left, though I have fixed that since leaving. Never seen Line Of Duty, although hanging out on Twitter on a Sunday evening seems to produce much the same effect.

I've never seen Jurassic Park. I've seen trailers for it, and the impression they've always left me with is of a poor remake of Westworld with early-CGI dinosaurs to jazz it up a bit.
I have never eaten a pizza.

These are great so far! Better than I hoped. Some of these suggest potential autobiography titles. Or songs or novels or something. I mean, come on - Never been on an aeroplane. Never smoked. No Planes, No Cigarettes - the stunning debut album by Anita. How did she come up with that title? Never broken a bone. Never drank a cup of coffee. No Coffee, No Broken Bones - the number 1 bestseller by new author, the intriguingly named Daisy 24601. What can it mean? Who is she? Why is her surname a number? Never seen Friends and no desire to do so Excellent! (Keep it that way). |

Never smoked anything stronger than a cigarette (and I've only ever tried those once as well)
Never broken a bone (touch wood!)
Never seen Game of Thrones (despite knowing people who have been in it - not main cast though!)
Never watched a single Star Wars or Marvel film
Never been snorkelling or scuba diving
Never put music on my phone (I still have a separate device for music!)

Never watched an episode of TOWIE and Celebrity Love Island or GOT.

Never been to the V&A, Natural History Or Science Museum which is bad as I live in London. Must rectify that.

I've never been to Paris, despite being a French Revolution obsessive since I was a kid. I've been to other bits of France and had a really bad time - it's not a great place for a young woman (as I was then) or a vegetarian, but I think really it's that the place in my head is an 18th/19th pre-Haussmann city and I don't want that shattered by the reality of cars and anoraks and snooty boutiques. I suppose I will have to go at some point before anything else I want to see burns down.

A pizza without cheese would be OK, but that would basically be just a few scraps of food scattered on a big bread plate.
And let's be honest here: if someone eats a pizza and then pukes it out on to a pavement it looks unchanged.

read any Dickens
(Looking back over this, I am conscious that regarding the driving, cycling and swimming I'm not deliberately averse to learning ways of moving other than buses, trains, planes and my legs. It's not part of some grand life-long anti-moving plan!)

Yes I've known others who can't bear to smell let alone eat cooked cheese. But if you get a good enough quality one a cheese-less pizza is very nice, your description of it is too dismissive! (And I hope I never eat one that starts off looking like a pavement puke puddle). Which reminds me - it's not a 'never' one but I am into my 17th puke-free year. Anyway, apologies for that horrible diversion. He started it! |

Things I haven't done yet:
* Learn how to ride a motorbike
* Do a balloon flight
* Do a parachute jump
* Visit those damn elusive pyramids
I can't think of much I'd categorically rule out to never do. What would life be without challenges and personal development? That said, I don't think I'd ever be crazy enough for bungee jumping.

Never seen Friends and no desire to do so I hadn't seen an episode of Friends until last month, and I have still only seen the pilot! (I enjoyed it, though.) I've never traveled to a country that hadn't at some point been colonized by the British. I never learned how to ride a bike! I've never owned a TV, although I have informally inherited one from a new roommate (I haven't set it up yet, though). I've never smoked anything. |
