Julian Clary wrote the script last night. "Steve's hole is a two-man job." C'mon, c'mon, panto doesn't begin for another two months...

Saving Roy's life = free bacon sandwich. Not a bad reward, really - unless you are a rabbi, I guess. And they should bring that woman detective in as a full-time character. Rather good in that walking conversation with Kevin, I thought. There's something interesting about her acting. Good thoughts, TM, but although I am enjoying her performance, I don't think real-life detectives are supposed to discuss the progress of cases with the witnesses the way the female detective talked to Kevin about Abi's involvement. Still, who said Corrie was real life...??

Still adore Corrie, warts and all. When it gets it right with the writing, it is spot on: and so many times I have generally laughed out loud with the odd quip - and a show with a high coefficient of lollification is not to be sniffed at.
Even when the storylines are pretty preposterous, there is much heart in the show, and some truly fab characters: But Dev....no, after all these years his scenes are almost Acorn Antiquey (and not in a good way!). And yikes, Jude - as warmly soothing on the eye as the actor is (shallow? un peu - just don't get me started on trainee Doctor Hotsy!) - that never-ending story line and the "acting choices" just leave me flaccid with perpetual disappointment.

After tonight’s episode, I wonder if we are going to get another “Free the Weatherfield One” campaign? We haven’t had one of those for a while.

After tonight’s episode, I wonder if we are going to get another “Free the Weatherfield One” campaign? We haven’t had one of those for a while. We had one last year, when Anna was found guilty of attempted murder. No doubt Sal will have a Christmas miracle and rock up for Christmas lunch wondering why Tim hasn’t boiled the sprouts.

Are the scriptwriters stealing from old episodes of Terry and June? " I was on the cover of Horse and Hound." "Which one were you?" "No woman would say no to a deep shag" talking about a carpet. Is this really the best they can come up with? Of course Tim and Sally don't have the skills to deliver this pile of horse's hit with the panache Mr Scott and Ms Whitfield.

I must admit the story about Nick Tilsley saying he'd had a hair transplant consultation was funny as about 4 of the male actors on the show have apparently had one done although Bill Roache at 87 years old still has a fine head of his own hair.
A lot of the funnier lines for me tend to come from episodes that Damon Alexis-Rochefort writes or co-writes,

Jonathan has written some of the funnier episodes too and certainly wrote Anthony Cotton's character's best lines. I believe he was brought in to specifically write for Sean's character originally.

Good episode tonight with Maureen Lipman thinking that Roy wants "nookie" with her and a rendition of Popular from Wicked from Moira.

Like her in it, but I got the idea from here scenes last night that the writers don't really know what to do with her or how to write consistently for her character. Yes, I agree. She’s a great battle-axe in the long tradition of Corrie battle-axes. I’m not sure what there is to do with her now her mystery has been solved unless they bring the daughter/ Tyrones real Mum.

Still can’t get used to her in it keep seeing her as the landlady she played for years of the rival pub and didn’t she also run the Rovers for a while ? Sure she did Great actress though

Pity they cannot quite get the right mix for Maureen's character as she is a top actress who can do some wonderful comedy turns. Is the person who wrote a lot of Blanche's best lines still on the show, they'd be the ideal person to develop her character.

What did people think of Corries 10,000 episode last night? For me it was classic Corrie full of humour and strong female characters. They also do typsy women so well. It was a great hours entertainment and fun trying to guess all the voices at the end. Without spoiling for those who haven't seen it did I hear right at the very end? Hope not.

I agree with everything you have said, it was classic Corrie. To answer your question. . . {Spoiler - click to view} I have read that Ken is leaving in the sense that he is going to be moving out of Coronation Street to live in a retirement home with Claudia, so will still be in the show. He'll never leave!

It started well but as soon as they got on the bus it just lost the plot. Corrie is very hit and miss at the moment in its writing. Based on the recent press I really expected them to get to Blackpool and find Bet propped up against a bar. In terms of the ending... Ken moves into the retirement home and discovers Norris and Hilda are living there too. Tracey and Peter will fight over who gets to buy the house. Which in fairness should be Tracey as I’m pretty sure Peter doesn’t even work? I think the ending will be reversed at the end of the year and become part of the 60th anniversary though.

I think the post Lockdown Episodes start tonight, although there have been some scenes already appearing. Simon Barlow's hair was apparently bushier in some scenes last week.
But lets spare a thought for poor Gail, how will she get on wearing a mask as she has such a tiny chin?
