Was watching this video of Sheridan at the Oliviers and I must admit she sounds really good here singing this song and doing all the dances! What do you guys think?

George! Sheridan's gonna be on the telly! Watch out for Crackanory on Dave. She's been signed up to read an extended story. (I have no idea what this programme is, but I thought you'd wanna know!)

Sheridan is back on Twitter by the looks of it, she's just posted a link for the Evening Standard audience award

Talk about good money for old rope. She was out-performed by every single one of her Broadway counterparts in Legally Blonde. And more than fine in Funny Girl but really not much more than serviceable in the end. Overall, she's fine but not exactly the second coming.
I think Georgexx might need to see a few dozen more shows before posting any more ridiculous "reviews".

I've seen loads and loads of shows and I don't know what you mean by "ridiculous reviews" - please explain. Funny Girl isn't the only show I've seen, I love ALL things theatre and for my age, I've seen lots of shows!

recused , george22 surely doesn't need my help to defend himself, but let me tell you that your comment was incredibly rude, gratuitous and obtuse.

If you dislike Sheridan as much as this hate filled post would suggest then perhaps it would be best to keep away from a thread about her?

"hate filled post"? Come on now, that's just ridiculous.
I think she's an OK actress but nothing close to brilliant. That was my point.

Rescued, that's fair enough but I don't understand your comments about me having to see a dozen more shows or not writing ridiculous reviews? Please explain. Also, why did you come onto a thread about her to write comments about how you don't like her?

I've calculated I've seen 40 performances so far this year (another 10 to the end of the year = approx 1 per week although there are a fair few repeat shows in there). Funny Girl was an absolute favourite and a great deal of that for me was Sheridan Smith's delightful performance.
I also don't understand the point of coming on to a thread about a particular artist to rubbish them. Not your cuppa tea - fine, but why do you think anyone else would be interested?

Just picked up on this post.
Recused. RUDE!!!!
Nothing wrong with George22 reviews who is a valued forum member. You don't rate Sheridan, fine but no need to be nasty to others.

Did anyone catch David Walliams and Friend with Sheridan Smith? This series is more miss than hit but she did a good job of some pretty naff material and we even got a bit of singing.

Watched it but thought it was abit silly. Didn't really enjoy it that much if I'm honest. Does anybody know when the Shannon Matthews drama she is starring in is due to air? I thought it was late 2016 but obviously not

Hopefully it will be out this winter. It's more of a winter drama than a summer one I would guess.

Maybe in Feb/March 2017?

I saw this the other day, as you say very hit and miss on the whole series but this was best episode so far. I loved the Barbie skit, actually reminded me of someone I work with!!

Looks as if she might be back in favour with the press again after very positive reviews for her BBC drama last night.

Yes she was good. Some people have criticised her accent but I wouldn't be able to say one way or the other.

She was amazing during the run in Edinburgh Playhouse. She looked really humbled when everyone gave her a standing ovation at the end of the show (on both nights I've seen her). Looking on Instagram it seems she did a really nice thing on the last night - she sent roses to people at the stage door. So sweet.

Looking on Instagram it seems she did a really nice thing on the last night - she sent roses to people at the stage door. So sweet. I went to Stage Door on Saturday Night so can confirm that is what happened. Darius came out before Sheridan with a big bouquet of roses and apologized on behalf of her, saying she had friends in seeing the show so might be awhile. He said for anyone who didn't what to wait, they can have a rose from Sheridan, so people came up and got a rose if they wanted one. It was such a lovely gesture. Sheridan came out about about 20 minutes later and apologized to everyone for the wait and was just lovely, taking the time to chat to everyone. Both her and Darius were just so sweet, gracious and down to earth. It was a lovely Stage Door experience.
