I want him to behave in the same professional manner expected of people in other lines of work. Not making your customers feel like an imposition is so incredibly basic that I can't believe I even have to say it. Sounds like you believe he's in the service industry. Well, they ARE providing a service. They perform, people pay to watch it. I don’t get the indignation that the “you’re in a service industry” comment was met with. Do they think it’s beneath them or something? If it was said it’s pretty obvious to me that the intent behind it was to remind them of their responsibilities to their paying customers. service industrynoun: service industry; plural noun: service industries a business that does work for a customer, and occasionally provides goods, but is not involved in manufacturing.

I think it's possibly that you infer indignation from my comment that's at fault here.

There's no snarkiness implied (to quote Judge Penney Azcarate), merely that there's been a long discussion on here about whether "we" are in the service in industry (after ALW's comments). BurleyBeaR has merely decided to interpret my response in his own way.

Whether you think it’s a service industry or not, I was making an argument that it is. I just quoted you for reference. Do you think “you” are in a service industry?

No I don't. Do you? Also as this is off topic, if you want a conversation then a PM is the way to go.

Worth mentioning this guy had a formal last written warning months and months ago, prior to the closing announcement shenanigans. Who would hire this guy?! Who? Rodders? And he’s still smashing plates while vague posting about ALW? ‘

I don't know how employers will view him. But I'd avoid a show with him as any kind of lead, after all this. I don't need to spend my evening wondering if the person whose performance I'm trying to enjoy is going to go home and complain publically about hating his job, displaying his contempt for anyone who bought a ticket. Ok, but c'mon, it's a job, that's exactly what it is. All a performer has to be is good at it. Who cares if they hate it and or even publicly say they hate it if, while you're watching them on stage, they are giving you a good performance? Whatever ticket you buy entitles you to a professional performance, not for the performer to think that the sun shines out of their employer's backside or that this is the best show they have ever done in their life? If someone's online posts has this kind of impact on your enjoyment of a show, then maybe don't follow any performers on social media? We don’t but we know every move they make from here 😂🤷♀️ Some of it is more entertaining than the Telly

Another show-stop tonight. This time I think it might have been an audience member taken ill or something.

So what's happening with this supposed Broadway transfer then? Any news or is it 'indefinitely postponed', as they have said in the past for certain shows of the Baron of Sydmonton that then never made it?

The latest announcement was that its on for Spring 2023, and nothing to suggest it is postponed.

I'm curious if ALW is so ticked off about all the snarkiness of this cast that he really doubles down in bringing this to NY hoping to vindicate himself and the show. His initial plan had been to open Cinderella in NY first (prior to COVID if I remember correctly)

Can you imagine if it had opened cold in this state on Broadway?!

Well I watched this show again yesterday and really loved it, "this state" and all... but then I go to theatre to enjoy myself and for escapism and not to pick apart every single aspect of every single show and those in it.
The theatre was full and there was a fantastic audience reaction throughout.

Carrie's off on her Insta stories again. She's been told off for taking too long at Stage Door, to the extent they have to pay the theatre staff overtime as she is there for up to an hour after the show.

Does Stage Door have to wait for her to finish signing? according to her she's technically still on theatre property so they are responsible for her

Sad to read all the negativity towards this show and CHF. I've seen Cinderella three times and voted it five stars on my first visit because I judge shows solely on entertainment value which is obviously totally subjective and personal. This forum is the closest I get to using social media so - fortunately - a lot of controversy passes me by.
I'm delighted to have a £15 stalls ticket for a final visit next Wednesday. I was sitting at the PC when the offer came through and booked within seconds, when I looked about 15 minutes later the £15 and most of the £29.50 tickets had gone. Hopefully Cinderella will return one day, It's been arguably the biggest casualty of the pandemic out of all the West End shows and the surge in bookings since closure was announced shows what might have been in different circumstances.
Hopefully Lion, Witch and Wardrobe will be a worthy successor though all the offers of heavily discounted tickets before it even opens doesn't bode well.

Carrie seems to have retracted her statement as her most recent story says she managed to still do photos and finish 20 minutes earlier…
Anyway, I got a notification last night that a £15 single ticket in the stalls was available for tonight, so I impulsively bought it as although I’m going to the final show next Sunday, I want to see it a couple of times before it closes (As I have a feeling that it won’t ever return in any city to be honest).
Does anyone know is Victoria HB is still on holiday? Michelle Bishop is great, but VHB is by far my highlight so hopefully she’s on!

Does anyone think the show will tour at some point ? I'd be surprised, the only show of his from the last 20 years that's toured is School of Rock that was a west end success and has strong brand recognition due to the film. Its also pretty much the only hit he has had in the same time frame. Even shows of the last 30 years Sunset tours rarely (twice from memory) and whistle down the wind had successful tours with Bill Kenwright. Cinderella also has the issue of feeling somewhat dated now (despite it trying to be modern) and that will only get worse as time goes by.

Cinderella's chances of touring are likely zilch at this point.
