Having watched a vid of the performance on a certain website (which I think was an official upload), I don't see why she's making such a fuss. I watched it after reading this thread, so I knew there were issues and was watching/listening for them. Otherwise, I doubt I'd have noticed anything beyond her going off-key at one point (then getting back on key pretty quickly) and her diction (she still sounds like she's dropping an f-bomb when she sings "barking mad...").
I totally get her feeling unhappy with her performance, but it does seem a bit OTT to be publicly giving a blow by blow account of exactly what happened (and in so doing, bringing it to the attention of many more people than would otherwise have noticed).

There was no blow by blow account. She said: that wasn't my best. She separately also posted that there were other events leading up to it that threw her off track, but didn't list them, and deleted that follow up.

I’m sure it’s a great comfort for the audience every night who’ve paid to see her deliver the gods, where she doesn’t feel any pressure to get it right, as she has other nights to improve. What a pro. The whole West end Live performance was just horrible. Staging. Costumes. Choreography. Singing. Why don't you enjoy yourself by going to Twitter and checking out all the comments on CHF's performance. 'Astonishing' 'knocks it out of the park' tend to be the nightly reactions, and to the wider show too. I haven't seen it, so don't know. In this post you are wilfully misunderstanding what she said. Her point is that in the controlled environment of the Theatre - knowing the acoustic, the foldback arrangements, the air flow and acoustics - she is confident she can deliver her BEST, and believes that's what the audience deserve night after night. I think some posts on this thread are now just gratuitously abusive of this performer. It goes beyond commentary and fair opinion, when words are gleefully twisted to discredit her.
I have to disagree with that. The comments so far are about a public performance, her reaction to that performance on her own public social media platforms and her audiences reaction to all of it. All of that is valid for discussion here. We have forum rules about critisism of performers and what is and isn’t allowed. If any member breaks those rules please feel free to report.

Agree BurlyBear, I don't think anyone is taking it into personal territory. Carrie Hope Fletcher uses social media to widen her audience, but as we've seen in the past doesn't always get it right. I think she comes off badly in this case personally. Made me watch the performance which I wouldnt've otherwise (which was, as expected, a shambles).
If she really needed to comment, she should've just made a glib/self deprecating comment - we Brits love that - and move on. If I were her social media manager I'd have just told her to say something like; "Can't win them all! Not my best showing! 😂 Had fun at this wonderful event, so glad to be back. Cinderella is a magical show and joy to perform in every night. Come and see me at The Gillian Lynne Theatre, andrewlloydwebberscinderella.com #WEL #CINDERELLA"
But humans are humans and she has had an understandable emotional reaction. It's just not the first, is all I'm saying.

This feels like gleeful bashing, and damaging to suggest that a performer doesn't care about delivering a good performance in the theatre - when what she SAID was the exact opposite: that the controlled environment of the theatre enables her to deliver her best and that's the only way she wants it for herself and audiences.

That west end live performance did nothing to convince me that this show is worth seeing. It was basically Carrie looking out of breath and uncomfortable moving around and being tied up and pulled around without resistance and not looking like she cared. I guess it makes more sense in the context of the show but it looked very amateurish to me. She didn’t sound as terrible as she made out though for most of it.

The fact they took the video down is interesting…They clearly didn’t want that video coming up on YT search results as it definitely wouldn’t make me want to go and watch it. However, multiple other shows also had sound issues and their videos are still up so clearly ALW of CHF stomped their feet and got it removed. Carrie also hasn’t returned to the show since it happened and also wrote that whole post about how she could write a book about the events of WEL. This show is literally just surrounded in drama all the time and it doesn’t help that Carrie’s online presence isn’t exactly a producer’s dream half of the time.

If that’s the case- she should say that the understudy should perform at these one off events. I do find it odd. I don’t know of any other performer who would say that out loud. It’s kind of what they do- PERFORM for an audience.

I can undertand the sound/mic issues affecting the singing, but isnt the choreography inbedded already? Wouldnt she know where to stand and what move comes next automatically by now? I'm surprised that things like not being in the same theatre as usual could affect someone quite so much. Its like that naff old film trope of people being too nervous to sing front of others, so they turn all the lights off and suddenly, they sing!

I've not seen the show nor listened to the soundtrack so my daughter had to explain the back story leading to the song Bad Cinderella. If they had also performed the song leading into Bad Cinderella, one the ensemble would have had more to do, justifying them having to perform early in costume and, two would have given more context to the choreography such as it was in Bad Cinderella including tying her up. I still think I'd only go for the moving seats.

The stage is a different size and shape, there isn't a revolve, the set isn't there and so it there will have to be changes to the choreography so it will be different but also really similar which I expect make it harder. I assume it also won't have had any rehearsal in Trafalgar square.

It's a shame, I feel for her. She has already proven herself as a singer with her live performances in the theatre and on the cast recording. It's a shame she couldn't pull it off for this occasion. The worst thing is that she is horribly out of tune here, whereas usually her technique is spot on. She's not helped by an even slower tempo, so sluggish this time as to ruin the song completely, regardless of the performer. The choreography seems uneven too. Some of it looks clunky and artificial when seen close-up, while some of it is actually quite effective. I guess this style works better in a theatre setting or perhaps it's again the tempo that is the problem.

The choreo issues weren’t caused by being in a different space. She lost the track and panicked about the vocals because she realised she was completely off which is what caused the choreography issues.

She was also nervous from the get-go, you can see it in her eyes. Didn't want to be there.

I can't blame performers for being nervous.
It's a huge crowd, huge expectations and they know their every move will be scrutinised.

Larger scale perhaps but no less nerve racking. Presumably it wouldn't have made any difference to her if the opening night had been filmed?

This is a tongue in cheek post, right? You're not being serious? I'm being entirely serious, what do you disagree with or think I've got wrong? What nonsense. They would absolutely have rehearsed this performance. And the no set etc comment doesn’t make sense. They rehearse these shows for weeks without any set, just markings on a floor. That’s really no excuse at all.

Because you have weeks of rehearsals in a rehearsal room, then tech rehearsals in the space, and then dress runs to get everything to an acceptable standard and spot any massive issues. You don't get that with a West End Live performance, you just jump out the plane and hope you learn to fly on the way down.

A press night has weeks/months of rehearsals and previews and also the sound system will have been set up to provide the cast with exactly they need to hear themselves and the orchestra to stay in tune. Also they can see the MD to keep time as well.

Y’all do realise that they are literally turning up and just performing the same number they do Every. Night. Of. The. Week. Right? Some people are making it sound like they are having to do it performing on a bouncy castle and on roller skates with 2 minutes notice or something 😂
