Does anyone know how many tickets for each show are allocated to lottery? Quite some people here seems to have got it (but not me - yet!) A LOT.

Are standing tickets available on the day? For example, Monday is showing as sold out but will any be released on the actual day of the performance?

When I got in to buying lottery tickets they were offering all the seats at the ends of rows (2 seats at each end) and back row of each level, as well as the stalls front row.
Quite a lot, but I got in on the second lottery ticket week of the run so it may have got popular since

For this particular Monday, I think all the standing tickets are sold out as there's going to be an unusual combination of understudies that people are keen to see so all the standing tickets have been snapped up quickly.

I just won the lottery on the first try! If anybody's wondering: - you can buy up to 2 tickets - 2 weeks in advance tickets only (from today to next Sunday) - "cheap" ticket days basically have no lottery seats available (so no Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday) - the best days for good lottery seats are Thursday and Friday (a bunch of them in the stalls, mostly sides, but also center front row I near-center back) - Saturday lottery tickets only available in the Upper Circle - a service fee applies to the price of the ticket
Hope that helps!

I won this week but sadly only upper circle seats left, and I'm too tall for those seats.

Won the lottery and bought the upper circle tickets. How is it in the upper circle for those that have sat there?!

Feel free to DM me if anyone would like the link It’s actually really cruel that I had been waiting to win and EVERY performance had lottery seats in the upper circle. 😩😭 I chose to get tickets seeing as I got the link but not too happy about it!

When I clicked right at 2pm there were plenty of seats not in the upper circle. That was not true around 2.15pm, so it's a matter how fast you get there.

Won the lottery and bought the upper circle tickets. How is it in the upper circle for those that have sat there?! It's somewhat steep - both in terms of getting up to that level, then getting to your seat, then the view to the stage. Also, not a huge amount of legroom. But I'm pretty sure you don't miss any of the action.

But I'm pretty sure you don't miss any of the action. The problem is that the person in the front row usually leans forward to see over the bar, so the person behinds leans forward to see over them, then the next, etc, so if you want to see you have to lean forward and it’s very uncomfortable.

Finally caught this, and got to say, I loved it. I don't see much in town these days, partly due to cost & time and partly because I feel a lot of it uninspiring. I found it whity and fresh, with wonderful manic energy. {Spoiler - click to view} Dear Bill nearly broke me. The whole audience just sat in silence forgetting to applaud for a good five seconds. An absolutely stunning bit of writing and an incredible performance.
Also, is Monty's tie coming off scripted or waw the a genuine mistake? Seemed pretty realistic but I can never tell I'd say the only thing that let the show down was the sound. PA rig looks about two decades past its best, and the cast headset mic positions were too far back and too far far from their face. Fine in quieter numbers, but it meant in louder numbers you lost a lot lyrics as the charity wasn't there. It is such a wordy show they needed great sound, and the slave is intimate enough to allow it easily. It takes a lot for me to forgive dodgy sound but this show managed it. A great piece of theatre, deserving of the hype.

We were also there last night and so can confirm the tie coming off was a total accident- I loved the ad-libbing that followed! It was my fourth time (2nd at Fortune following twice at Riverside) and this time I sat in the front row (AA) of the stalls. As others have noted leg room is limited there and you do need to look up constantly but personally I loved it. Really intense (in a good way!) to see it up close and spotted lots of small details I didn’t catch before. Took nine work colleagues, of which eight were first timers who all loved it. I’m pretty sure I’ll be returning again before long too!

Ties fall off on a regular basis, but unscripted.

Forgot to say earlier in the week but I ended up getting a last minute ticket in the stalls for Monday evening’s performance.
Having seen Sean Carey covering as Charles at Riverside some months ago, it was fantastic to see him reprise the role yet again. As much as I do love Davey, there is just something so understated, believable and utterly hilarious about Sean’s take on the character.
Fascinating to be reminded how he delivers some lines so differently (and vice versa) for comedic effect. I couldn’t choose between them as they play Charles so differently but a joy to see. Not to mention, him dropping the phone at the end of Act As If and almost going arse over tit during the final jumps!
I was also fortunate enough to catch Holly Sumpton covering Monty. This woman is supremely talented. I felt she slotted more naturally into this role, both comedically and vocally, than when I’d seen her covering Jean (which she was still an absolute star at). But while her Monty is slightly less brash and more clipped than Tash’s, you’d have never known she was the understudy.
My eighth visit and only the second time seeing Sean as Charles and first time seeing Holly as Monty. But within a few songs, I was struggling to remember the principle cast! What a wonderful situation for this show to be in right now.
Not sure when my next visit will be but hoping for some lottery success soon…

I thought this was absolutely wonderful. Normally I need a couple of listens before really starting to like musicals I'm not immediately familiar with, but this hit the ground running and got better and better as it went on. 'Dear Bill' I think may be one of the most moving songs I've ever heard in a show.
The cast were all brilliant in the multiple roles (Geri Allen was on as Bevan et al. last night), though Jak Malone in particular felt like the standout. Spent the whole journey home listening to the cast recording and thinking about when I might be able to book a second visit! It was just a proper triumph of theatre - exceptionally written, highly original, and a real joy to watch.
That said, I'd forgotten just how small the Fortune Theatre is. Great for feeling up close to the stage - less good for the knees!

The cast must be very good at getting into costume very fast: when I walked past the theatre at 7.19pm this evening I saw David Cummings & Claire-Marie Hall walking towards the stage door still in their normal clothes.

Is that unusual? I'm not an expert but I thought 30 mins before the show was the normal time when performers had to sign in by? If so, they were in plenty of time.

I've realised that I was wrong: the show starts at 8pm on Saturday evenings! I had assumed it was the usual 7.30pm start time, especially as audience members were entering the theatre. (I would not want to arrive at a theatre with as little foyer space as the Fortune 40 minutes before the start of a show.)
