Ticketmaster still has the time as 8.30 so I would doubt they'll offer refunds unless/until they have to change the time officially - I have a couple of friends wondering exactly the same thing which is why we checked what the official time in the UK is stating

But if the start time is shown as 8.30 and she doesn’t show up until 10.30 or 11.00 meaning that people have to leave before the end, surely that should qualify for a refund. She’s making it impossible for people to consume what they’ve purchased.

Her website specifically states:
Which makes me think/hope it’ll be fine in London or at worst changed to 9.30pm for a midnight finish.
If it does get changed here, I’ll be going to see Come From Away up the road beforehand!

I would anticipate 9:30 to 9:45. She’s not usually as late in London as in the US.
But I’m not saying this is a good thing - 8:30 is the dream!

The only reason she wasn't late for Rebel Heart in London is because she'd been fined 135,000 quid for being late at Wembley and the O2 is just as hard to get home from. She's playing in Central London with night buses everywhere this time, so anyone hoping she'll be on time is just kidding themselves...

She was on time for MDNA Tour in Hyde Park, which was also central London. I think we’ll be fine - Londoners won’t hold back if she’s massively late.

This has nothing to do with Londoners “not holding back”. If the venue has a curfew (as is the case with Hyde Park) and the local authority/crew/management the resolve to pull the plug then she doesn’t have the luxury of her diva antics afforded to her in the US.

Well it kind of does. A fine is one thing, turning the electricity off is another. As far as I’m aware both things only ever happened to her in the UK, and she’s at the stage where money doesn’t matter (divorce settlements aside) - when they turned the electric off she still continued doing the show. My understanding is that the Palladium will not have a curfew in place. But my point is that in the US there has been zero audience backlash over the start times outside of the 12am start in Vegas... and after that she’s reigned it in. Personally I can’t see a London audience holding back and will let her know it’s not okay. Despite her late starts in the US her reviews have all been glowing. London reviewers will curse her if she’s late, no matter how good the show is. Press matters to Madge. But I’ve got faith. She started on time in London on her last tour, re-introduced songs she had cut and then added a few extras in that were not part of the setlist. So we shall see.

Would be interesting to know the terms of the Palladium's entertainment license as that presumably defines the hours they are allowed to operate on different days of the week.

Didn't someone quote it on here a while back? I did check the last tube from central London during the week, and it's 12.30am. Doesn't help the majority, I'd guess, who will be trying to connect with rail services which end far earlier. Yeah if you need train connections you'd be screwed.

People have been whinging about it from the very first show, you're clearly not looking very hard for criticism. Of course I don't mean braindead stans whose children could be murdered by the woman and they'd still say 'what do you expect it's Madonna', I mean normal people who don't suffer from brain strangling cognitive dissonance x

However to clarify my point further, I mean during the show, no one is challenging Madonna over her lateness and I think in London they will. For example, NME gave the show 5 stars and basically said this about the late start: If she didn’t turn up until 11pm that is not the description of a London audience imo, nor the kind of review she should expect. I can’t imagine anyone here saying an 11pm late start was ‘immediately worth it’!

So @theatremonkey is correct, TallPaul found the Palladium's theatre license. So - unless they apply for a license extension she has to be offstage by midnight. On behalf of the Board, I've downloaded the Palladium's theatre licence from the Westminster City Council website. Currently, performances of live (or recorded) music are allowed between 10:00 and 00:00 from Monday to Saturday, and 11:00 and 00:00 on Sunday. To allow for chucking out time, the theatre itself is allowed to open between 09:00 and 00:30 from Monday to Saturday, and from 10:00 to 00:00 on Sunday. So unless Madonna takes to the stage very, very late, which I understand isn't unknown, then punters should get a full performance for their not inconsiderable outlay.

^Well done on the detective work...the new Holmes and Watson!...fascinating stuff...does this mean that if she starts really late it could be a very short and expensive night out?

^Well done on the detective work...the new Holmes and Watson!...fascinating stuff...does this mean that if she starts really late it could be a very short and expensive night out? Let's face it, she is only playing to diehards these days anyways and they (as we can see in this thread) will accept anything she does. No one else in their right mind would be paying that much to see someone they have only a passing interest in and those who do are only doing it so they can say they went. With the amount of tickets left for the London shows, I imagine her knee is going to get pretty sore again when she arrives back in the UK and she'll cancel a few shows Easyjet style to fill up the theatre for the rest of the run like she did in the States.

The 'overwhelming pain' is probably due to poor tickets sales in some venue.

The 'overwhelming pain' is probably due to poor tickets sales in some venue. It's very telling that this close to the 'event' you still can't select your tickets from a seating plan of available seats...

If she did go over the allocated performing times would the theatre be forced to stop the concert or would there be a fine which would likely be peanuts to Madge. But if she did start going over than ALW could soon put his foot down if it caused his venue to get into trouble with the local council.
