Does anyone know if they plan to release it on DVD/Blu-Ray!?

42nd Street closed on the 5th Jan 2019, 2 years ago. I still remember with Great joy and sadness the closing night. Who else was there? I couldn't be for last night, but was there a day or two earlier, when a "what's next?" chat with Clare Halse at Stage Door led to a trip to Paris to see her in Guys & Dolls at the Marigny. Discovery of another Paris theatre meant my annual pre-Christmas day trip to the Chatelet became a weekend later in 2019, to see both Funny Girl and American in Paris and catch up with a school friend I'd not seen for 30 years! Happy days. May they be back soon (soon being a relative term of course). |

They practically had to throw us out at the end. |

I've got a HD recording from the recent TV broadcast on my Virgin Tivo box but will also buy a blu Ray copy as if the tivo box goes wrong or is changed then I've lost it.

This is excellent news, especially with the promise of more to follow, but it doesn’t actually say where they’re being released. Are they coming out over here at all?
25th May is a Tuesday and the US releases new blu rays/DVDs on Tuesdays (here it’s Mondays). Its not listed yet on blu-ray.com, but Kinky Boots is and that’s only showing up two listings: one for US and one for Canada.
I would love to own a copy of this, but I’m not getting my hopes up just yet.

I hope it does — I watched it when it was on YouTube before Christmas and thought it was fantastic (I love a bit of tap dancing!). I'll definitely buy it if/when we can.

Alyn Hawke in concert at the Turbine Theatre on 28 June, performing songs from the musicals he's understudied in, including 42nd Street. www.theturbinetheatre.com/whats-on/understudy-jazzTickets are only £12 and there's still good availability. Looks like it will be a good night (with a fantastic singer at the helm). |
