I think the chances of Norman as Julian with Philip as Billy is sadly really unlikely because it would be an amazing show! I saw a cast board on twitter the other day where Norman was Julian, Philip was Pat and Dylan was Billy. I'm not sure how it works with cover priority when both Tom and Stuart are off. The cast board I saw also had Sam as Mac/Doc/Thug and he's second cover Pat so it could be that had Sam been able to cover Pat Philip would have been Billy but then there's also a second cover Mac/Doc/Thug. Casting is confusing!

Tonight Philip was Billy and Norman was Julian! - Clare (Halse) was Peggy, Jasna, Chris and Sheena were all on but Bruce Montague was off. Jae Alexander was also off, but the orchestra were brilliant as always.
It was a fab show. I really enjoyed Norman's Julian & Philip grew into the role as the show went on. This was my 5th visit & still keep wanting to go back - I'd lay just to see the finale.

Sam Murphy also put on his instagram story he made is debut as Pat Denning last night so you saw him in that role, his first time doing it apparently.

Back to see those dancing feet for the 5th time this afternoon. Not gonna lie, am going in the hope of seeing Sam as either Pat or Mac/Doc/Thug due to him doing those roles throughout this week.
But also, the show is fabulous. Why would I not go back?! 😅

Looks like today is the day that everyone is going on the spur of the moment, I got a day seat for this afternoon in the hope that last nights cast is replicated today. One piece of the puzzle has nicely slotted into place, thanks Steffi now let's see if Stuart turns up or if we'll get Philip or Dylan as Billy.

When I got my ticket about an hour ago the cast board had Philip as Billy. Guessing it was this afternoon‘s cast already.

Norman on for Julian, Philip on for Billy, Sam on for Pat (YAY!)... rest are the usual apart from some minor roles.
... and Chris Howell.

So when do we think they recorded the Michael Macintyre series - can't have been during the run?

Really enjoyed the show tonight. Just love Norman as Julian. And Clare is such an incredible talent - she makes it all look so easy. Liked Philip as Billy but I do prefer Stuart who I think is a stronger singer and dancer.
Also, if Tom Lister is still of sick on Monday the second cover Julian Marsh will go on.

Much prefer Tom to Norman. Philip was good as Billy, but Stuart is amazing and notably lost. Sam was great in a thankless role, but I preferred him to Norman.
The show is as amazing as ever. 5 stars still. 😊

So when do we think they recorded the Michael Macintyre series - can't have been during the run? They film the series on the days that 42nd street don't have a show which believe is Sundays. They did the same while Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was playing there.

I guess that is a tricky day for the MM crew - the orchestra pit looks different, and fitting all their set and band equipment and the room onto an already crowded backstage must be difficult.

God. Just seen the Christmas schedule. This cast will be exhausted next week, with four days of matinee and evening shows! It will pay off, as it is tourist central and everything, but my god, that is a busy week!

Changing the current subject, I have just got my cast CD and I am very happy with it. Yes, some of the numbers have been edited, quite skilfully in my opinion, and on my playback equipment the tapping sounds fine. For a show that has very little dialogue it was inevitable that there would not be room on a single CD to accommodate the entire musical score and in this day and age it is unlikely that any record company would want to go beyond a single CD for a show of this nature. As an example of why we should be happy with the current album, just think of Capitol's shameful decision back in 1971 to record only a single LP of the original Broadway cast of Follies because it was thought to be of only limited appeal to the wide public and was not comparable to their other big Broadway cast sellers like Funny Girl or The Music Man.
