Jed Mercurio is doing so much for the representation of disability, giving Tommy Jessop really tough, emotional scenes. The interview where he almost breaks was brilliantly acted.
So many links to the past, can't believe it took them this long to find out about Jackie Laverty's body from series 1!

I'm finding this season hard going. It's just too much for my brain at the moment to remember the past seasons and link things together. Whilst at the same time the OCG interference, like the armed robbery and drowning, feel really clunky and unsubtle.
Although agree Jed Mercurio is doing a brilliant job.

I liked the line in the bar, between Jo and Kate, about AC-12 getting a pound each time they say OCG. Very clever.

I am also enjoying Obsessed with Line of Duty on BBC Sounds. Craig Parkinson is the ideal host.

Putting my prediction out there Kate is H if for no other reason that an emotionally wrenching face off with Steve and his ‘mate’ Kate would be satisfying? Kate is the only one who has been undercover throughout in just about every station going, yet has worked with a few of these people who either know she is AC12 or fail to recognise her? S4 mentions Buckles has worked with Kate before in a past undercover investigation, worked with her in S4 and now again in S6, Farida knows Kate from S4 and S6 and so far Ryan doesn’t seem in the least bit worried Kate has interviewed him previously as a child. We’re also never told why Kate and her partner have split and custody is with her partner? Is she trying to distance herself for their protection?. Side theory: Jo is deep deep undercover, possibly AC12 or investigating Kate.

But the betrayal for all us viewers might bring down the government..on the other hand..

I really hope none of the main 3 are bent. Too easy.

I’m still suspicious that Kate never actually left AC12. The way she has sucked up to Davidson is how she acts when undercover. This could just be a deeper undercover than we’re used to, or Steve is aware of.

I don't think all 3 will make it out of this without a scratch.
I can see Jo being told to kill Kate. Perhaps even a cliffhanger ending not knowing if she lives or dies.
Given that this series has a tag line of Lies cost Lives (or something like that) there is going to be a major death.
And if this is the final series then that feels even more likely.

I would benefit from a feature similar to one on my Kindle which (for some books) gives me a character summary when I highlight their name.
I'm not good with names, and rely on them providing context if it's someone I'm supposed to remember. That doesn't happen often enough for me.

Mercurio said loads more to come as long as the BBC want them Although there could well be misdirection there, too (Spoiler for ITV1 police drama follows) Nicola Walker being interviewed for this series of "Unforgotten" said she'd love to do more, although at that time she obviously knew her character was being killed off. Mercurio is big on twists, this could be one of them

Come on Steve, since I knew he was going to die as soon as you walked in the room, why didn't you?!
Last few seconds, 'they're gonna show the photo right, show the phone, damn you I can't wait another week!'.

Only Scottish character to have made a mark is Tommy Hunter Not quite, there was Dryden and Hilton too, but I agree Hunter would make the most impact. Why was Kate so vehemently defending Davidson? And why was Davidson so dim as to not anticipate Ryan's retaliation?

So are we thinking that Ryan's surveillence may have mysteriously disappeared at 'that' moment?
Yes, I hope Kate knows what she's doing because it looks like the wrong call.

Steve said "he", so we know it's a man, who isn't in the police. Tommy Hunter seems a likely candidate. Lots of speculation online already, I guess we'll find out next week!

He would be best guess but the Scottish accent connection of Tommy Hunter and Jo may be too obvious? Too young to be her father also. My money’s on Terry Boyle. Maybe Jo being blackmailed to keep him safe? Still think Jo is deep undercover and has bitten off more than she can chew though. [
