I think this is another concert announcement rather than a show. I was thinking that it was the news Jeremy Jordan was doing some more dates at Cadogan Hall this year, but maybe that’s just because I read it on Whatsonstage lol!

Any thoughts on a venue for Pretty Woman when it arrives in 2020? Depending on how Waitress does in terms of sales, I could see it taking the Adelphi. Other possible venues I guess would be the Savoy/Piccadilly, or at a stretch the Shaftesbury depending on & Juliet.

So it may well hold out to see how Waitress does first. Adelphi is the theatre I imagine it in.

I bet Pretty Woman will probably beat Groundhog Day to the theatre because you know, Pretty Woman has made money.

Did anyone talk about Beaches? They just did a workshop (again) in London directed by Lonny Price. He said that it'll open either this year or next in London.
And though this is not aimed for London, I came to find out that there is a Black Swan musical adaptation. Music by Dave Malloy (of Great Comet) and directed by Rachel Chavkin. Still well into development.

Black Swan musical adaptation. Music by Dave Malloy (of Great Comet) and directed by Rachel Chavkin Oh S*IT. 4 swans per role, 1 black, 1 white, 1 Asian, 1 trans for each one. Plus disco and classical dance breaks. All saints preserve us. Don’t forget the ticker tape drop in the first 30 seconds.

Has Pretty Woman confirmed it is definitely coming over? A lot of speculation this is going to elbow Waitress out, is that show selling badly?

It was announced on a radio station it is coming over in 2020. Waitress isn't doing great buisness, and the reviews have yet to set the box office alight butnthese things do take time. I do know though that Pretty Woman has the Adelphi as their first choice so we will see.

I think School of Rock will be the next big show to bow out. Could PW go for the Gillian Lynne?

I think School of Rock will be the next big show to bow out. Could PW go for the Gillian Lynne? I agree. I dont think its the right theatre for Pretty Woman though. It should have an Adelphi style stage rather than a Gillian Lynne one. I still have everything crossed for My Fair Lady to go there.

No wing space, no nothing at the GL - My Fair Lady is a HUGE production. Dominion or Palladium are the only two likely houses.

I pray to all my gods that it isn't just a sh*tty Summer filler at the Palladium, we want a RUN with this one!

Great Comet at the GL pls! I'm so confused with everyone wanting Great Comet to come over. Like, I have seen the bootleg and I didn't "get" it, and there is no way we will see that production in that form over here, it would be financial suicide since it bombed once Josh left. It'd need a smart venue and a smaller production for sure.

I love the cast recording! It's one of those shows you either love or hate I think. Not your typical musical, that's for sure.
I'd love to see it in any form really. But yeah, I realize the GL might be too big now that I think about it.

Great Comet at the GL pls! That would be a great idea. Comet was done in a large tent before moving to the Imperial in NY.

My Fair Lady has a 5 tonne house set that can only be operated by a robot, not stage hands. It's needs the Dominion or Drury Lane, which is not available unless Frozen backs out. Frozen on Broadway is a the 1/2 price booth on a regular and offered other severely discounted tickets through TDF $50.

I reckon To Kill a Mockingbird will transfer here, probably with Jeff Daniels. I could see at the Gielgud or if they want a bigger theatre, maybe the Piccadilly.

People have been rumouring Great Comet for a while now, I wonder if Rachel Chavkin's recent presence on the South Bank means someone's looking to raise her profile a bit ready for a Great Comet London run.

I think Comet's life is practically over. She's got a lot on her plate with Hadestown, Lempicka, Black Swan and who knows what else she's developing.

“Exciting” announcement coming from WhatsOnStage tomorrow. Any ideas? Still waiting on casting for a few things. Joseph seems a Baz thing so probably not that.. Casting for On Your Feet? That starts at Curve in couple of months.

I suspect Curve will be busy on other things for a big announcement tomorrow...
Given WoS and their ability to exaggerate, it is more likely to be a press release about an increase in programme prices at a small theatre in Leatherhead than anything of earth-shattering significance..

It'd need a smart venue and a smaller production for sure. Musically, it's genius. Dave Malloy has done something spectacular with all his works, Great Comet especially. It's unusual and abstract, so I understand why you don't "get it". But, I have to say, I'm in the fan club wanting it to come over desperately
