Yes, I felt seriously short changed when I saw this at the Peacock Theatre with its cardboard set and lip syncing Brad. I saw a tour of it years ago and it was fantastic. This current tour was like a bad panto. Brad wasn’t lip syncing - as we discussed extensively at the time

The London stop is part of the UK tour, and he is performing on other dates too. It was announced this morning: musicalsontour.co.uk/rocky-horror-show/Nothing near me though. Please come to Leeds! My friends saw him in Australia and said he was ace in this role.

It was very obvious and quite strange.

THE DOMINION?
Am I in the middle of some crazy fever dream?
And those prices? For Rocky Horror? Maybe for a night, for an anniversary?

If they use the same set that’s been going round for years then it’s never gonna fill the stage there. If they make a new set to fill it then it’s not gonna fit in any touring theatre.

Happens quite a lot with touring productions when they reach larger theatres. They put some black masking around the proscenium to shrink it down to the right size.

Top price at the Dominion? £120.
Imagine paying £120 for a cardboard set that has been in use for a decade.

He was beyond awful in that cheap production that just toured Australia. I’m guessing this is the same one, cardboard sets, devoid of humor or fun. Don’t waste your money.

Jason Donovan really likes the jump into a role in a tour and doing the bare minimum. Seeing him do the Pharoah's song in Joseph like 4 times... Oh help.

I saw him as Frank Butler in Annie Get Your Gun and that convinced me to never watch him in anything ever again. It truly does take a great talent to play a Southern American man who regularly slips into an Australian accent but sings with a posh English accent.

I’ve had numerous notifications and emails about this in the last few days you’d think it was a sparkly new production, not just a tired production with a tired “personality” in the lead. I actually cannot bear to think of JD’s interpretation of Frank. He’s so effing wooden. Cringe.

I can’t wait to see him over here. Kel

This show has toured way too much over the last few years, with the same cheap set and almost the same cast every time, and while I don't dislike Jason, I don't think he is the powerful celeb casting they think he is, and is not going to inject any freshness into that show.
They need to rest it for at least a year, and when they bring it back, they need to do it as a whole new production, new set, new cast.

And Jason Donovan will be awful in this, as he is in everything I’ve seen him in!

I must say I wasn’t too upset when I heard Jason isn’t doing the Liverpool venue where I’m planning to see the “new” tour on NYE.
I hear reports of him being a dark and edgy Frank when he previously played the role many years ago but he’s been dreadful in anything I’ve seen him in recently

I saw him when he did it previously & he seemed like a rabbit in the headlights. He was unable to deal with the audience participation. I hope he has improved.
