Saw this for the first time last night. Couldn't tell you what on earth was going on towards the end but it was fun whatever it was.
I have noticed Liam Tamne get a bit of a negative press on here (well...the old forum) in general but have to say i couldn't fault his performance in this. He has a stunning voice and was hilarious.
I can see why it has the cult following and people go wild for it, and i did think it was enjoyable, funny and a great night out but i doubt i'll be making multiple visits and dressing up in suspenders, fishnets and corsets any time soon.

I can't really see why people go so crazy over it and why it's still attracting people to its cult. I'd love to see the stage show without all the shouting out.

It can get a bit much but it's hard to imagine it without the audience participation now. However there's always one "wag" who thinks their repartee is funnier than anyone else's. Needs a good narrator to put them in their place!
I thought Liam Tamne was great too. Very OTT but very funny.

It would be a far better show without the AP, yes some of it is funny but becomes weary after you have heard it for the umpteenth time and sadly once one of the audience has opened their big mouth a good many more follow shouting out utter crap which is neither funny or fitting. The best put down I ever heard from a narrator who spat back venomously at an inapropriate shout out from an audience member was "If you wanted to be in the show you should have come to the F*****g auditions". A show is about what happens on the stage and not about an audience member trying to grab thirty seconds of ovation for themselves.

Tonight was my first time!
So much fun, and a packed out Sunderland Empire - not many shows manage that!
Cast were on top form, loved act one, loved act two (but didn't have a clue what was happening towards the end).

Great show.
Biggest ensemble in any show roughly a 1000, but this can increase or decrease depending on the theatre capacity.
Saw it with the original Richard O'Brian last year who approximately took the roof off the Playhouse.

O.M.G.! Give yourself over to absolute pleasure mate and if not the side show, watch the film.

Yes. I think I should watch the film. The stage version did nothing for me; nice songs, nice story, all a bit nice, but mainly dull.
I can understand how it was 'groundbreaking' back in the day but now it's just meh.
The audiences desperately trying to conform with shouting out and mimicking of costumes surely go against the message it tries to put across. Come up with your own costume, rather than being the fifty-fifth man in suspenders in the past five minutes.
The words are 'Don't dream it, be it,' not 'copy us because you're lazy.'

[br Actually there have been quite a few packed out shows recently - War Horse, Lion King, Wicked, Jersey Boys & Priscilla

Well yes the big shows like Wicked etc all sold very well (didn't see any of those listed apart from Priscilla, which wasn't particularly full the night I went). Sunderland is a tough venue, with that hideous top balcony and terrible views.

The whole tour must be doing well, it's already booked another week in Birmingham in October even though it was just there a few weeks ago (even though it's just 1,347 seats so not that hard to sell out).

It already had October's week booked in before the recent run, they were advertising them both! I'm surprised it didn't do a longer run in all honesty, I'm sure a 2-week run would have sold equally well!

This is now doing Leicester Curve in July. Which is annoying for me as I went to the expense of a trip to Birmingham, hotel and all, to see this last month thinking it would be the closest it gets and easiest chance to see it and now it comes to my local theatre! (not to mention the fact i get 15% discount at Curve so paid more than i needed to as well for the ticket) Well i will probably just see it for a 2nd time.

That is the good thing about Rocky Horror, when it tours it does pretty much cover every inch of the uk, the bad thing is they don't announce theatres it is visiting until a couple of months before. With Rocky you are normally ok to not have to travel for it, it will eventually be announced that it is coming local, for instance every tour since the pearly anniversary has been to Leicester

I just have to see this again. Love this show and saw it multiple times last time it toured. Kristian Lavercoombe had to step in and play Frank recently, now that I would have loved to see!

Who is currently playing Eddie / Dr Scott, it doesn't seem to be Paul Cattermole ?

It seems that it should still be technically Paul as Richard is always quick to point out at the start of the week that he doesn't know which shows if any he will be doing.
When the cast was announced, Paul was my first guess at perhaps never finishing the tour!

Paul's damaged his back, he's still attached to the tour, just unable to perform.
