Apparently Elaine Paige has just said on Radio 2's Tony's shows that Pippin is heading here next year.

Apparently Elaine Paige has just said on Radio 2's Tony's shows that Pippin is heading here next year. Sounds exciting. Probably the West End as it was such a big production? Edit: Ahh, Chichester ok.

Just going by what i saw in twitter, not actually listening to the show.

Get that. Just thought people would be fighting for over themselves for prime theatre, in the middle of tourist season. Short notice. Faustus was meant to be a sell out smash hit and extend. Going into the West End with no time to pump out promo and prepare has slaughtered shows before, people don't want to make that mistake again. Faustus was never meant to extend. Kit Harington was only ever available until 25th June, and extending shows without their stars, well, we all know how well that goes.

Faustus did extend by a couple of weeks already. As popcultureboy says it wouldnt extend without its star

Harold Pinter Theatre is available from November with the closure of Sunny Afternoon now... Perfect timing for a transfer to the Harry of How the Other Half Loves which closes at the Andy on 1st October. Not a musical.

Made a list of Broadway transfers I'd like to see, say what you agree with: (in order or preference)
The Color Purple The Crucible (only with current cast) She Loves Me Waitress Something Rotten? Shuffle Along?

I can imagine Something Rotten could be picked up for a downscaled tour if it doesn't make it to the West End.
Waitress I can definitely see happening. It is doing fantastic business.

Gentleman's Guide? And I think Something Rotten could do well here. Also I imagine Fun Home could perhaps play at the Menier or Donmar?

Fingers and toes crossed for a Color Purple homecoming! I'd be less surprised now it's a Tony Winner! I really hope so, it could do well at the Noel Coward maybe?

Gielgud would be great for Waitress.
Coward for Color Purple would also be fantastic
We can dream right?

I would welcome, and wouldn't actually be surprised now by a Waitress transfer. It is a fantastic score!

It's not in a massive theatre on Broadway (Brooks Atkinson, which also housed Rock of Ages) and isn't a massive show with 20 cast members in total (including swings) so less than were in Mrs Henderson/Lend Me a Tenor at the Coward/Gielgud respectively. Thats what makes me think theyd be a good fit for it.
