***A Pacifist Guide to War on Cancer (national)
This is advertised as a musical and I have no reason to believe otherwise. Also, you missed the Hedda Gabler revival (which is definite) and it's James McArdle, not Charles.

"School of Rock" is supposed to be opening in the spring. I wonder if it will be in time to be considered. Rehearsals for School of Rock are due to start March 2017 and the cut-off date for the Oliviers is usually at the end of February, so it will probably have to wait until the 2018 awards! 2017 would be a great year for Groundhog Day if it opens as planned on Broadway in March, it could end up winning both Oliviers and Tony's in the same year! (of course wins and nominations are not guaranteed)

What about Hamilton, that should have got enough shows in before the closing date shouldnt it?

But when it is announced will there be enough time to get the requisite number of performances in?

I wouldn't put any bets on for Actress in a Musical until Amber opens in Dreamgirls! As much as I'd like to see someone else get it, I think it'll take armageddon to stop Sheridan Smith winning it.

Whilst I agree, lets not forget Amber is singing that famous song in that famous scene that pretty much won both the Tony and the Oscar! I wouldn't be at all surprised, if Amber nails it, to see her win!

Glenn Close will be nominated for Sunset Boulevard, surely? Everyone's going all Imelda over her (as will I probably once I've seen it!) so I'd say she'll probably be a front runner next year!

I didn't think the London Coliseum productions were eligible? If it is, Glenn will no doubt win. It will be the Angela Lansbury slot.

But when it is announced will there be enough time to get the requisite number of performances in? I thought Beautiful last year and Mrs Henderson Presents this year proved that you don't need to have done the requisite number of performances before the cut off date, you just have to be scheduled to do at least that number

Would the pantomime that's rumored for the London Palladium this year be eligible? Maybe Best Entertainment and Family, or even Best Comedy?
Provided it does more than 30 performances, which it should do easily if it's twice a day and runs for about 3 weeks minimum!

What pantomime at the palladium is this?? It's rumored that seeing as School of Rock has been pushed back to Spring 2017, (and rather than Cats returning for a third time) a panto is returning to the Palladium, from what's been said on here and its-behind-you.com (the pantomime forum), it's Cinderella. Supposedly with Dawn French or Kylie mentioned as the Fairy Godmother, with Julian Clary and Paul Zerdin.

It has been rumoured and yes if it does happen it will be a indelible stain, that will be there forever.

"An indelible stain that will be there forever"? Are you sure those are the right words for what you're intending to convey? After all, the continued joy and curse of theatre is that NOTHING is there forever. Except The Mousetrap, and even that changes cast every year like clockwork so it's never going to be exactly the same as it was no matter how hard it tries.

OK, so this might be obvious to some people, but be kind to me as it's my Birthday and allow me to ask:
What happens when plays are split in two like Harry Potter is? Do they just count as one? As I said, just not sure.

I'd assume they'll count as one for all intents and purposes. After all, when Roger Allam won Best Actor for his Falstaff, they didn't narrow it down to Henry IV Part 1 or Part 2. It's the same story, cast, creatives, crew, so there's no reason to give themselves extra work by scrutinising them individually.

I really hope The Spoils picks up a few nominations! It 100% deserves nominations for 'Best Play' and Jesse Eisenberg for 'Best Leading Actor in a Play'. Depending on other supporting actors this year, Kunal Nayyar also deserves a nomination, but that really depends on his competition.
