Each time I see him mentioned on twitter I read his name as Jacy Arrow.

I can’t lie, I would have been there for Harry Styles (what I can dream?) but it’s quite nice it’s a “proper” musical theatre cast (And Jason, Who will perhaps decide not to phone it in like he did Pricilla) Maybe for the first month. I was feeling generous. Until Press Night? Before any JD fans descend 1. I was one of you in the 90s 2. I ENDURED 15 PERFORMANCES OF PRICILLIA (back to back) I HAVE SEEN THINGS (few of them acting)

Fresh faced, lightweight pop star singing pop star arrangements of frothy musical numbers. I then saw him on the WOTW tour about four years ago. I’m still picking the splinters out of my face and trying to get the smell of ham out of the shirt I wore that night. Hoping they have dropped Pharaoh back down to just the one song. 😱

With Sheridan and Jason they don’t need a name for Jospeh so this is great casting to bring someone new and fresh faced to audiences!
I’m really hoping DEH does something similar to cast ‘names’ as the adults and find a star for Evan.

I agree, love it, when young newcomers get such a chance to shine, it's how a new generation of "stars" is born anyway!
Since Joseph is overall a very hammy show, I don't think JD can do much damage here!

Have you considered frequenting a website that discusses race and gender? It's a little odd to visit a theatre website and moan that we're discussing theatre! You sound like those people who complain about there being too much politics in comics, like Captain America wasn't drawn from the very beginning to be a Nazi puncher.

I do hope they have secured Joan Collins for Mrs Potiphar - otherwise the show just won't be worth watching.

This casting has me way more excited than if they got some B list celebrity to do it. I heard great things about him in Newsies and I always love seeing new stars get their start. This is a really solid cast so far, in my opinion.

Ah well, he has made his career for the next few years if this all goes to plan.
I also thought Jac was great in Newsies. Had no idea so many board members had managed to get tickets. We should really discuss stage school productions more.

Quite a lot about the casting of it. Also, 'without being too pedantic' always comes across as 'enough of this challenging the status quo please'. We could go back to endless posts guessing which white male popstrel will be playing the lead. I personally find this discussion a bit more intellectually interesting. I like discussions about race and gender that reveal people's perspective on the world. Have you considered frequenting a website that discusses race and gender? It's a little odd to visit a theatre website and moan that we're discussing theatre! No moaning from me! I like visiting a forum where a lot of the people seem to like discussing the real world application of race and gender in the casting of plays.

I ENDURED 15 PERFORMANCES OF PRICILLIA (back to back) I HAVE SEEN THINGS (few of them acting) I suspect ( and I may be wrong) that I am the only JD fan who regularly posts on theatreboard, so no descending from me, just a different view! I loved him in Priscilla, saw that show loads and loads, I think somewhere around the 50 mark in the end but I ended up loosing count. There have however been a few things we’ve bought multiple tickets for and just had to endure (specifically Night Must Fall back in the 90’s but there is another more recent one that was... wearing! ) I am looking however forward to having a regular show to see with him in, although quietly pleased it’s only 11 weeks because I can’t afford it to be longer!

It's an extremely white cast.

You gotta get a gimmick... Images of Jac Yarrow in a light-up loin cloth. Excellent.

I saw the recent Arts Ed 'Newsies'twice. Jac was tremendous (as was the whole show).
He'll find Joseph fairly undemanding in comparison to the lead in Newsies, where he has the majority of the songs and some exhausting choreography.

Truth be told, Joseph isn't the biggest part, even though it's technically the lead. The Narrator is really the lead role IMHO

If there’s anything we know about you it’s that: 1) You really don’t rate Sheridan Smith. 2) You really can’t get over the lack of an ice castle in Frozen. 3) You love Aida.
