I can't really see the Joseph at the Palladium will be an unknown. Just wish whoever it is they would announce it!

That was unexpected!
Hope he does really well. Can't be easy having such huge expectation on your shoulders.

He played the lead role in ArtsEd's production of Newsies and was terrific.
It's an unwritten rule that any professional roles aren't announced until after the final showcase performance - which was today.

Good for him! I’m glad the Olly Murs rumours were unfounded.

Agree that he was brilliant in Newsies, great choice for Joseph. Glad to see some young talent getting a chance.

Lovely. Will we ever see him and Charlie Stemp in the same place at the same time I wonder?

Great see a new face grace the West End. To make your debut on the London Palladium stage must be the stuff of dreams. Good luck to him.

Echoing the comments that he was absolutely fantastic in Newsies, what a great opportunity for him

Well, massive congratulations to him - he must be thrilled. Graduating and then immediately playing the title role at the London Palladium!

Congratulations to him. He will have to have a tough skin. Also they will have to age him for the second half. He looks very very young, which he is. He has to start hitting the gym too.

Without sounding too pedantic...what does all this have to do with Joseph? Quite a lot about the casting of it. Also, 'without being too pedantic' always comes across as 'enough of this challenging the status quo please'. We could go back to endless posts guessing which white male popstrel will be playing the lead. I personally find this discussion a bit more intellectually interesting. I like discussions about race and gender that reveal people's perspective on the world. Have you considered frequenting a website that discusses race and gender? It's a little odd to visit a theatre website and moan that we're discussing theatre!

Sorry I couldn't give more details but glad it's out now and really happy for him. He was great in Newsies!

Phew! Thank God a decent casting decision and that the B-list pop star rumours were not true - very pleased :-)
Now let's hope the show is ready in time as have taken a decision I don't normally take and risked booking for the first preview!

Strangely this makes me want to see it more than a name would. I'm intrigued to see him following his good reviews from Newsies.
(also can we have a production of Newsies, thanks)

When words fail, you sing. When singing fails, you dance. When dance fails, you post a meme, but I'm too technically challenged to post a meme.

I can’t lie, I would have been there for Harry Styles (what I can dream?) but it’s quite nice it’s a “proper” musical theatre cast (And Jason, Who will perhaps decide not to phone it in like he did Pricilla)
