Does anyone know if there are any offers running on this at the moment? My usual go to place of TheatreMonkey doesn't seem to be showing any.

Thanks Daniel. Seems strange when according to the seating plans online there's lots of availability to fill up.

Baz championing a show is often a bad sign (not always but a lot of the time)

Yeah, as I understand it the producers don't want to discount, in fear of the slippery slope. I guess the hope is that now that the reviews are out, with some positive word of mouth, sales will see a boost. Whether or not this will actually happen, the jury is still very much out.

There have been last minute discounts at TKTS this week around 5.30/6.00pm. £69.50 down to £49.50 - something like that, but probably not this coming weekend. The show is very busy Sat matinee and evening. Can a show survive on 2 full houses a week at the weekends?

Two shows which appeal to The Girls' demographic, American in Paris and 42nd St are about to start performances so it will be interesting to see how it does.

^Sundays can be iffy. I think they have it right. I'm hoping it will go like "Sixpence" and build. Honestly, I think it's a very decent show and not badly over-priced compared to many. The top is £69.50, which is below most others, too. The issue becomes when the cheapest price in the stalls/dress circle on even the quietest of days with hundreds of unsold seats, are £59.50. For Half a sixpence, rear stalls are sold at £27.50 day of. Most shows do something. Whether a lottery, dayseats, online rush etc. Even Book of Mormon has stalls seats at £40 and under during quiet periods, and the daily lottery. I'd be taking my dad to The Girls next week, my mum in June and maybe another visit in between if there were dayseats, but I won't if I've gotta pay £29.50 for the worst seats in the house.

For Half a sixpence, rear stalls are sold at £27.50 day of. Dynamic pricing, which ATG do too. A little early in the run to expect the dynamic to kick in that deep, though - usually they wait at least a month before prices go that low a reasonable time in advance. Fair point on advance planning. I think it all stems from what the producers were saying pre-opening, though about the West End being split into those willing to pay premium, and those who want top seats at very low prices, and no middle ground. They are right in theory, but in practise, it could be difficult to re-educate back to the "old ways," maybe. I think Sonia Friedman's approach of having premiums balanced by lower cost tickets at the bottom does work, I understand Pugh and Rogers' wanting to not have premium pricing but I think it does mean the lower end of the pricing scale is priced higher or there is more top priced tickets. The argument for accessible tickets is interesting but keep in mind, producers don't have to or need to offer it.

Indeed it is early days, and I'm definitely falling into the category of "those who want top seats at very low prices"... although I have and will pay when necessary (Hamilton, Harry Potter etc). I saw Bend it Like Beckham 5 times and never paid more than £20, and was Stalls 3 times, Dress Circle 2 times, and it always seemed really busy. Guys and Dolls I paid £15 for Dress Circle in previews and again it was packed. Yet the Phoenix tonight with over 450 unsold seats has nothing in the Stalls/Dress Circle for under £59.50. Haven't found a show in London to be this inaccessible for a while, I paid £25 for upper circle first time which was fine, but on a second viewing will definitely want to be closer.

They closed the upper circle tonight. My 29.5 pound ticket for the upper circle was upgraded to the dress circle's front row. I'm so glad I came to see it today, hope I like the show.

IIRC the same producers had the same approach of very cheap previews but full pricing once the show opened during The Full Monty and that ended up closing early.

And I continued to love it to the end. One of the most moving and funniest musicals I've seen for a long time. Superb honest performances from Joanna Riding and Claire Moore. In fact practically the whole cast younger lads and older. Smashing. The cast were collecting for charity on the way out and without getting too political if past and present governments had collected taxes properly and fairly from ALL then we shouldn't need charity. Think on Philip Green and all the rest who wriggle out of tax on some scheme or another. And I speak as someone who the NHS has somehow got me through two unrelated cancers at the same time. Sorry really just want to say thank you to the authors and company for a life affirming evening.

That's not quite accurate about attendance there. It's if a show loses money for 3 consecutive weeks, the theatre owners have the right to serve notice to the show's producers. Or at least that's how it used to be. You aren't wrong about the notice being served only when there's a better option knocking on the door though :-)

TKTs are advertising discounts now at 2pm. Also the £29.50 grand circle tickets are now discounted to £19.50.

I wonder if they're doing group discounts as a result of the Olivier nomination?
Buy one ticket, get another 5 free.

I was joking? Something I do a lot on here and no one seems to get. And if you read back a few pages rather than just put me down, I have been saying consistently that it is a shame people aren't going, and that I hope they put the talented leading ladies in the forefront of the promotion to make the show appeal to more musical theatre fans as well as Gary Barlow fans. I have nothing against the show, and I look forward to seeing it when I do, but the only thing I have ben consistently negative about is their terrible promotional work.

Even though I'm not too happy that 'The Girls' are nominated as collective, if they're trying to make this show more of an ensemble performance rather than a leading lady performance, they should advertise it more in that way. I would rather it was advertised more as the great 'female' ensemble piece that it is than sticking Gary Barlow's name on every sort of advertisement. Even if some Gary Barlow fans would go see a show about watching paint dry if his name was on the poster lol
